Said during the broadcast his arm has been "cranky" lately. Said he labored with it through the Game 1 start. I know he won 20, and I'll get killed for this probably, but I really don't think he's been great since the injury a couple years ago. At least not crazy Waino great. Velocity seems to dip quickly. Location hasn't been nearly as good (lots of balls up). And doesn't seem to use the cutter nearly as much. Don't get me wrong, he's still darn good. But pre-injury I would've struggled to find a handful of guys I'd rather have on the mound with a series on the line. That's no longer the case.Originally posted by 3Rfan:
I know Lynn "could" go and be on regular rest but why wouldn't Waino start when he is too is rested? They just held him out of his last regular season start and he sat for 11 days, that didn't work out so well.
Not a bad point there. He's been lights out on the road this year too. I feel more comfy with Lynn and Lackey at home anyway.Originally posted by WCS Coach:
They might consider going with him in games 3 and 7 also. Wainright might be better equipped to pitch that first road game in Frisco.
