Where is this inflation coming from?

Not saying Company profits are not a component of the rise in inflation but this reeks of the govt covering their own arse for poor policies and decisions and targeting the lefts popular punching bag corporate companies. Jeez it's hard enough to figure out real profits from paper profits......why would anyone trust a Calif. Lefty holding up a EPI funded Cardboard Graph the same EPI group who supported B. Sanders policies and is funded mostly by Unions. Yeah that data is not skewed at all and should be trusted. Love the Govt. stooge yes man marching to the part propaganda as well.

I know attacking corporate America is what Democrats do to cover up their own stupid policy decision and choices but it's low hanging fruit and really transparent BS.

That is why I don't respect the Dems.

I don't know where all this inflation coming from but if you pay attention a LOT of the hot news these days ain't nothin new at all.
They say heating oil and natural gas will spike this winter making a hardship on those who use that for heat and even electric heat since a lot of that comes from using natural gas too. Guess what? They also say it will get as high as it did TEN YEARS AGO!
The drought is a bad thang for nearly all of us, especially farmers and ranchers and the Mississippi River is the lowest it's been in, wait for it, THE LAST TEN YEARS!
I'd bet the folks trying to buy a house or pay they credit card debt think the Fed is contributing mightily to their inflation by raising interest raise at ridiculous rate. ALL of this stuff has happened MANY times under various administrations.

when trump allowed Saudis to buy the largest refinery in the US we were basically screwed.

Let me know when you see a bunch of Walmart stores closing. Or Targets. Or restaurants. There is still high demand. There are still profits to be made. There are still jobs available. A significant portion of the inflation is profit, which was clearly stated at the beginning of this thread. Not wage increases. Not oil or gas. Profits.

Where is inflation coming from? See Ukrananian War, See Global inflation, See OPEC +
How is it not inflation for home buyers and credit card holders to jack up interest rates every couple of months. People are worried about the economy collapsing, that looks like a good way to cause that. How the heck do we have a recession with an unemployment rate of 3%. Most folks call that full employment and there are job openings every where you look? If you don't have a job right now it's because you don't want one.

Why are rents going up so much? Including vacation rentals. Those landlords/owners didn’t all refinance their mortgages at a higher rate. It’s flat out profit.

Yes it has..... the drought is a huge concern with the supply chains being upended. If food starts getting scarce then the Meltdown will begin.

Rent goes up because no doubt built in services are going up as well Trash services ,WiFi services ,Cable ,water, also labor and material for repairs have skyrocketed to keep rentals up to code. And the Amount of people defaulting and being late on rent has also increased at a dramatic rate so often others end up paying for those who won't pay. Sure profit is a motivating issue as well but I don't think anyone wants the hassle of owing rental property and not making bank on it. Rental landlords are not in the Charity business.

As far as Vacation rentals those will easily adjust down when the market bottom out and people stop taking luxury vacations that cost a lot. Vacation rentals are purely market/disposable income driven....and are 100% profit motivated so any Vacation rental property owner who is not soaking every penny from their customers is a ignorant sap.

If you got money for vac rentals, you're not hurting. I don't see many working Americans hurting too much - YET!! Prices keep going up in the grocery stores, gas prices going back up, and winter heating bills coming with dire predictions on cost of natural gas.

According to MG trash collection charges and WiFi have caused rents in some areas to go up 50-60%. Bahahahahaha

The 6 largest publicly traded oil companies made more than $70 billion in profit in just *90 days*.

I get the feeling the gas prices didn’t go up due to paper towels in the men’s room costing more for station owners.

It's crazy to me how certain folks just lap up the propaganda and think that's ok if they keep sticking it to us..must be the other teams fault.

What is their return on investment?? Probably not any worse than Apple or other large corporations. At what point do we determine that a level of profit is unwarranted??
Our entire economy doesn’t depend on Apple to transport people and goods.
For me personally, they can leave the prices sky high. People need to live smarter and consume less gasoline. And they won’t do it if the price is down to $2 again.

I was at a local state park last week riding my bike. A school bus from a town 25 miles away pulled in on a field trip. Behind the bus was a long line of 15-20 cars with a parent driving each one. No one carpooled. They all drove separately.

I was driving up 270 the other day toward 44 during morning drive time. Car after car had a driver and no passengers. No one carpools.

We can do better.

So the mosports keyboard mafia blames corporations, espcially oil companies, and Americans that wont carpool. For once you didn't blame Trump, so thats a step in the right direction at least.

Your leader blames Russia, Ukraine, gas station owners, blah, blah, blah

Seems like a common theme. One thing is certain, it can't have anything to do with your leader or the party that controls congress 🤔

No. It doesn’t. In 2008, the gas prices skyrocketed and it had nothing to do with George Bush.

And in 2015, gas prices plummeted to below $2 a gallon and it had nothing to do with Obama. OPEC dropped the bottom out on the price per barrel. OPEC, with the Saudis at quarterback, sets the price of crude oil. I assumed everyone knew that. Now suddenly we have OPEC+ to include Russia, thanks to our dear ally, Saudi Arabia.

Dramatic price increases seem to always follow major global events in the past 30 yrs - 9/11 in 2001, the financial crisis in 2008, and covid first, then Putin's war have currently disrupted the market. And make no mistake, gas prices began climbing immediately after covid hit.

Yes. It has nothing to do with fracking nor the keystone pipeline nor Hunter’s laptop.

You were just blaming oil companies and people not car pooling, not the open market. Do you even know what open market means? You might wanna get your stories straight, Tootie Fruity, your acting like your leader lol

What landlord pays for wifi, cable and water for you? You just make up crap.

Yes Vac rentals are a luxury and paying a few bucks more for a ABB etc. means your not hurting......Some working Americans are feeling the Crunch and are having to adjust their lifestyles(I agree not hurting Yet) as everyday items and their increased cost have shrunken their disposable income, they eat out less, go to the movies less, they are dropping entertainment services, not shopping for clothes and other accessories as much. They are not starving or freezing to death but when a huge portion of people in America start just working to just pay rent/mortgage and feed their families then they will probably become angry and disenfranchised with the System and with the power elites in office.

Less people contributing disposable income to the economy will also greatly effect local and small business to a greater degree than the mega corps.

I also mentioned Cost of labor and Materials for continued maintenance...... but Sure you are always disingenuous in your responses. You know as well as I do that if you own a apt complex or a block of rental houses that waste disposal can be very expensive per month, and that providing it is a must because a lot of renters will trash up a place if they are left to their own initiative to get their own service. Since 2018 the price of waste removal has went up 12-30 percent depending upon the Green Policies of that area. Companies are not going to eat that cost just as they are not going to eat the Cost of any service they provide.

Really my daughter rents a apt., trash, water and cable/Wifi are included in the rent. Heating Utilities are paid by them. My Buddy just moved from a apt complex with cable/wifi,which he didn't want but it was in the price no option to opt out so he took it, trash was built into the rent as well ..he paid water and utilities separate. Almost all Apt. don't want 3 or 4 services providing WiFi or cable/Satellite etc.. so they contract out with one, and everybody get's that service and it's not a option because it's built into the cost of rent. This is not a 100% but it's very common. Some Apt Complex's do have Fiber ran and that multiple services can use and you have options and pay on your own. But a lot of complex's sign contracts with just one service.

When I had rental property I paid the Utilities/Water/trash since they where rental homes they paid for Cable etc.. Water and Utilities where in my name, had them on month to month leases and then took average monthly energy usage jacked that up 20% to cover any insane usage and that was rolled into the rent they paid.. . also keeping utilities in your name allowed me to shut them off if they Pizzed me off ...... Bad renters then fled like rats from a sinking ship without water or power after they got their notice.

Why should people carpool if they have no desire to? Why not exercise your God Given Freedom and Drive a big ole SUV where ever and when ever you want.

Why the Heck would anyone Carpool anyhow unless it was with friends and family. Most people want to listen to their music or radio in peace and not be bothered by people they don't like or care for.

Here is a thought how about let's really care about the environment and hammer down on the exorbitant amount of unnecessary Air Travel reduce the insane amount of pollution and damage that does. Not only does Air Travel spew out Co2 the Vapor trails of NOx screw up the weather patterns.

But No way do we want to go after the Normal people who fly to much or the Uber Rich Jet set club and inconvenience any of them......I find it so hypocritical when they have Climate conferences and Such how they all gather at some energy sucking Rizzy resort, leaving their energy sucking mansions and fly in on luxury private planes or riding commercial first class and then are chauffeured to the events is massive SUV or Limo's, but they want us to Carpool or take public transportation.

Those are Global profits correct? I think U.S. companies made 14 billion total and with overhead they rolled in about a 10% profit margin. Not a insane amount.
