Where are all the Minnesota fans?

This pattern will continue across the country in all walks of life; I prefer to take the "We do not negotiate with ransom seekers" stance in these cases (it used to be "We do negotiate with terrorists", but that's no longer PC...)

Sounds like they have a legitimate reason to boycott...if I read things correctly. Maybe someone can explain it to me

You can call it what you want (suspension or otherwise), but I don't know how a coach can risk playing these kids until the university's investigation is closed...

The coach wasn't for the suspension in the first place. The President said it was the coaches call in a press conference, but then it came out later that it was actually the President and AD's decision, and Coach Claeys has no say. He is standing with players completely.

Still, don't know how the university then can risk allowing them to play until the investigation is over (imagine if the investigation turned up some hard facts in favor off the victim; the university would be crucified for allowing the players to play in the midst of the investigation...)

Just my opinion; I am generally in favor of allowing due process to conclude, but in today's day and age of (justified) sensitivity to issues of domestic violence perpetrated by athletes, I can see where the university is coming from (will be interesting to see how this plays out...)

I definitely think the striking/boycotting players on this case have more standing than the Mizzou players did last year...

Wasn't the official law enforcement investigation concluded already and this is just the Title IX investigation that has to be concluded?

It is the Title IX investigation. I have a lot of bias with Hardin being from WC and wanting him to succeed and honestly if he wasn't there I probably wouldn't even spend 2 minute thinking about what is going on but I do think there are some issues with Title IX that fly in the face of due process. I think it is well intentioned but I have NO idea what really happened in this case but generally speaking it seems in some cases that an accusation alone is enough to end a players career. Think of the Duke Lacrosse case which didn't even involve Title IX. I do realize a school doesn't have to think a player is guilty beyond a reasonable doubt to remove a scholarship but it appears that there isn't even enough evidence or enough contradictory evidence maybe that there aren't even criminal charges. That makes for a slippery slope.
