They have split the school up and will most likely have both schools and Helias all in the same districts in sports? If Blair Oaks keeps growing, they will soon be there with them as well. Talk about rivalries.....
I agree and Rolla could be added too. Man it will split Jefferson City up when all those teams have to play each other. Also, I guess people get their wish for the Helias vs Jeff City football games too....I don't know that Blair Oaks will ever grow enough to be in districts with the Jeff City schools, probably not even Helias for most sports. Blair Oaks has leveled off the last few years and only sit at an enrollment of 430.
I think it would be wise for the two Jeff City schools, the three Columbia schools, Smith-Cotton and may be even Camdenton to form a conference. Helias might join but not sure with them going to the catholic conference in St. Louis. It would make more sense for Helias to join if a local conference was formed. Less money on travel and less travel on school nights for students and coaches, and they play all of those teams anyways.
Yep, Joplin gone. West Plains is really the only bad trip left. The idea, on the surface isn't awful. But truthfully, I couldn't imagine that being worth a move.Of course Joplin is leaving the Ozark Conference, so that would eliminate them.
I would say:I'd say Rolla and/or Waynesville only make sense without Sedalia in the equation.
I'm not sure I see the upside for us at Camdenton, truthfully. Same for Waynesville. Maybe for Rolla. Only upside I can see is never having to make a trip to West Plains again. Nothing against the folks or the town, like them both. But good grief, that bus ride.
