They looked very solid last year and had a bunch of young players starting. Any locals know what the deal is?

While they may not have performed to expectation, thus far. They have not exactly had an easy schedule to start the year.
It's not going to get any easier. Cassville beat Springfield Catholic with ease.
Yeah Seneca has been a huge surprise so far this year. Figured they would push cassville and Lamar for the crown. But looks like they will be now in a battle for trying to finish in the middle. I thought last year they got worse as the year went on and it really showed against MV in the playoffs.
From what i heard and read, against Catholic, they had a hard time bringing down Riley. i know they had a returning starter O lineman out with an ankle injury. They lost their tail back in that game as well. They have good numbers out, have several kids who hadn't played in a while back on the team, but their backups are young and inexperienced. Then it sounded like they just couldn't catch a break against Reed Spring. Seneca couldn't get anything going, either fumbling or missing downfield either over throwing or dropping passes but having defense beat by 10 yards a few times. RS has a physical defense led by Head Coach, who is a former WC/Pitt State Line Backer....
I bet they will get it going and be in the conversation come district time.
They are overrated. Capitalized on a lot of luck last year. What you have heard about loading the box is true
