Here is wikipedia's definition:

The Kansas City metropolitan area is a 15-county metropolitan area anchored by Kansas City, Missouri, that straddles the border between the U.S. states of Missouri and Kansas. With a population of 2,104,509, it ranks as the second largest metropolitan area with its core in Missouri (after Greater St. Louis). Alongside Kansas City, the area includes a number of other cities and suburbs, the largest being Overland Park, Kansas; Kansas City, Kansas; Olathe, Kansas; and Independence, Missouri; each over 100,000 in population. The Mid-America Regional Council (MARC) serves as the Council of Governments and the Metropolitan Planning Organization for the area

Missouri Side- THe KC Suburban Conference. See what teams and what counties they are from.
Another new definition? So, none of the above is correct, since even this dumb backwoods dude knows that St. Joseph Central is in that conference ... And that St. Joseph is north of PC-kearney.

Other - Lowrents is not a part of the KC Metro.

What bizarro world do you live in? Oh yeah, St.. Louis... No, sorry to say its close proximity to KC is about 30 min. And Lawrence's football opponents?
All are well with any reasonable zone one would included as the KC Metro.

Shawnee Mission NW
Shawnee Mission North
Lee's Summit West (MO)
Shawnee Mission West
Olathe South
Shawnee Mission East
Blue Valley NW and
Olathe North

St. Joseph is definitely not part of KC Metro area. We have our own TV stations that are separate from KC. None of St. Joe area teams are reported in KC newspapers or TV (except Central).

The only thing some of the above schools have in common with Seabury, Lawrence High and Free State are the fact LHS and LFS are in the same conference - SMNW, SMN, SMW, OS, SME, ON - the Sunflower League. Further, *all* of the EKL and Sunflower schools above are located within the contiguous KC Metro's suburbs. Lawrence is completely detached - it isn't a suburb. It's even further out than DeSoto and Eudora.
