Happened when Coach was at Liberty North I believe. Not Odessa. Odessa hired him. Going thru the court system. Two stories being given and as is usually the case, truth probably falls somewhere in the middle.Heard a FB assistant choked a student and threw him to the ground. Coach charged with assault.

Were I a betting man (I’m not), I’d wager the truth is somewhere in the middle. Coach probably would probably handle it differently if he had to do it all over again and the kid is most likely being melodramatic.
Of course, I don’t know a damn thing.
It does appear KCTV5 has made up their minds, though.
So, hypothetically the parent might benefit financially? Or he's a loose cannon? Or both? Interesting. Guilt by accusation. Knowing what I know, the coach could have reacted to a disrespectful student by yelling or God forbid uttered a curse word, and the penalty would be no less than what he's received. I don't know a dam thing either about this situation. But I do know the latter is true. Why school administrators don't accept that verbally aggressive kids can potentially be violent, I will never understand. If a kid will fbomb you, it's not a big leap to expect he may try to do something more.Issue was BEFORE Odessa, but Liberty North released him, didn't take the issue serious enough to go after his teaching certificate...
MY kid would run through a brick wall for this guy, loves him like his own brother. My kids also know that if they ever talked back to an adult or coach the way the LN kid admitted he did, there will be a lot more trouble at home than ANYTHING a teacher/coach could legally do to them!!!
Oh, and the LN kid's dad DOES have 4 pages of cases on case.net where he has been sued for unfulfilled contracts/unpaid bills...that tells me all I need to know!
