It just weird to me that Penney, Lawson, and Lathrop have all been down the past two or three years. With East and Mid Buchanan picking up the slack. Are those two schools getting all of the talent? I remember back as recently as 2018 when there were 5 teams in that conference that were title contenders in their respective classes.

Lawson long time HC retired. Lathrop very successful HC left. East Buch in a big talent up phase could repeat in Class 1 this year. Mid Buch seems a smidge down this year but never know what will happen when those two hook up. I expect a closer one this Friday than the regular season blowout.

Any known reason for Penney being down, just is weird that they have been so down after how dominant and consistently good they were from about 2008 to 2018

Numbers is my guess. I watched them open at Higginsville (replay) didn't look like they had all that many out this year.

And I remember when Cameron had one of the most dominant teams in Missouri HS football history. Things change.

They just don't have the kids, it happens, especially in smaller towns. Could take a few years to get back.

Lathrop had a 2 year run, the coach bolted, as he's known to do, when the good classes dry up. He's crushing it in Gallatin now.

They are on a quarterfinal collision course with East Buchanan. Yet another must see one in this region.............
I remember when Mid-Buch lost 4 games in the regular season avenged both their losses to east buch and Penney and was play away from beating a very good Lincoln team and going to the state championship. That was good KCI football.

Gallatin is loaded with talent, EB is HUGE up front. EB has won, knows how to win, I think that plays in their favor.

When West Platte had the Barmann's and Roe's, North Platte had a QB one year and went to state, Lawson had some great teams in early 2000's who didn't get to state because of St Pius, Plattsburg (who has had some crazy good talent), Lathrop had their 2-3 year run, Penney, East Buch, and now MB as of late. The conference has had some success for sure.

I watch EB play about every week and have for a couple of years. The conference cycles through talent. I remember seeing West Platte play in Adrian one year and they were really good. I am pretty sure before MD got Fritz, which I am not sure when that was, they struggled. From 2011 to 2017 they were 22-50, since 2018 they are 54-10. They are 45-5 in last four years. From 2017 to 2019 Lathrop was 36-5, since then 7-22. Some depends on coaches, but a lot depends on player rolling through at the time. I will be in Gower on Friday night to witness game 14 between MB and EB since 2016.

Wow game 14 is crazy. I’ll be at Lincoln Cole Camp this week I’d say they’d have to be around the same number in that time frame

This will be the 11th time since 2016 that Lincoln and CC have met. Lincoln has a 9-1 advantage in those. I am pretty sure Lincoln's field will be packed. I know East Buchanan's will. I have a long drive home to Windsor after the game.
