I see he is not on the roster. I thought he would have a chance at Larsen's record.

Brandon after 2 terrific seasons decided that he didnt like some of the requirements at CofO so he transfered to William Jewell and during the 1st semester he was not seeing much playing time including a loss to the Bobcats in Point Lookout.

Thank you for the info. That is too bad. It does take a special commitment to play ball, work and study, but there have been many of us that did it. I guess he just was not CofO material.

Argo must be having a hard time not playing down at CofO where you get every call. He really doesnt have any post moves from what I have seen. He just seems to spin around and throw his arms in the air which is a foul down there. He was highly overrated in my opinion. Also watched him shoot a ball over the goal from straight on, something that I have never seen in many years of watching basketball.

I think that's what is called a home court advantage. But sounds like sour grapes on your part. I know a lot of kids that would have loved the chance to play there.

I cant imagine the commitment to play college basketball, go to school full time and work full time especially when you are 18, 19 years old. It is very difficult. I dont think it makes him any less of a person to decide that is not for him....even if it means less playing time.

You only work 15 hours a week. not exactly full time and the athletes usually don't have the most demanding jobs anyway.

I'm not sure the athletes have to work the entire 15 hours during season. But it's not that much either way, and most of the jobs are not that demanding. Of course some want the harder jobs so that they can learn the trade for after college......heavy equipment, aircraft mechanic, electrical etc.

I am thinking about going to C of O, would you mind explaining to me your experiences at C of O. What do they ask of you as far as working, and what is the college atmosphere like?

I know when I was there, all athletes were still to work 15 hours/ week even during season. We had 3 or 4 of us working on the farm at that time also, so not everyone works pud jobs.

Yes it is a lot of work and I believe most athletes are treated just like other students as far as their job assignments go, esp. their first year or two. With on-campus work plus assignments and classes (in addition to off campus jobs that a lot of students have) it seems like a lot. But then we all get out in the real world with jobs, bills, etc and those times at C of O don't seem all that bad.

Brandon Argo decided to leave C of O because he hated his coach and the work program. Brandon worked in the cafeteria and had to be at work by 5am four times a week. When the team would go to away games getting back after 1am, he was still expected to be working by 5am. He was exhausted from playing ball, going to school, and working. It's not like he wanted to leave, he just couldn't handle it anymore. Brandon misses all the friends he made at C of O, but thought Jewell would be a better opportunity for him. He doesn't get to play as much, but he doesn't have to work and school is less stressful.

Argo or should I say the Argo's are continuously agitated by one thing or another. They were never happy at KHS and its no surprise that C of O couldn't keep their group happy either.

It amazes me that a player with Argo's great stats at C of O jumps to another school and doesn't even get to play much. Another bad decision, like moving to Springfield where they were never satisfied in his sub-serviant role.

How long will it be before the freshman in HS Argo is on the move? Will Ozark get another move in? Or will it be KHS? The little one might not be able to get play time at those two, so maybe they will just complain and stay put. Its not the players with the problem by the way.
