This may seem like an odd question, but what exactly is mshsaa? Are they at all a part of the state government? Do they answer to the state government? Are they associated with the Department of Education? Are they a non-profit organization? Are they structured as a for profit business? I may be very naïve for not knowing but I guess I never thought about it much before.

My best explanation: it’s a voluntary association of member schools governed by a board of directors with a purpose of administration and oversight of inter scholastic activities of student athletes.

Give or take lol

I don't think this is going the way the OP intended lol.
Meh, mowestern hit it on the head. Needs to add...governed by a bunch of old farts that have ZERO clue about the wants/needs of teenage athletes, but like to strut around in their matching blazers and stomp the fun out of state competitions.

I am so fed up with MSHSAA and their failure to reach an agreement with Fox Sports Midwest. How many years has it been now since we could watch the Missouri state championships in football and basketball on TV? I don't know all the details or how far apart in dollars they are, but it's a crying ass shame that MSHSAA can't get a deal done with FSM. Other states' championships are being televised on Fox Sports, so evidently it is doable for them. I would think sponsors and advertisement would not be a problem.

Pisses me off to no end!!!!!!!!!!!

Not to mention you have to but district and sectional tickets online and your are charged $2.75 fee for buying tickets. Was ready to buy the Jeff City vs Helias game on MSHSAA tv and a friend texted and said that it is not working. Feel bad for all the ones that had already bought it.

I would be very tempted to sue MSHSAA for the $12.50 if I ordered a game and they failed to provide the feed.

It's really a crock of bull crap that schools with their own capability to live stream via youtube can't do so, especially if MSHSAA isn't going to provide the game.

Well, that was kind of my question. We all have frustrations about the organization. I was curious where to go if we want to have our thoughts addressed. I have always thought that if you don't like something, try to change it. I believe that the people who run the organization are good people who want what is best for kids. Perhaps there are perspectives they have not considered.

My particular frustration was with the TV thing. I actually emailed them concerning the per game price of the games online. To their credit, they emailed back promptly and addressed my questions. Safe to say, we have not come to the same conclusions, but I do respect them for communicating. It would have been very easy for them to blow it off.
