Along with what are you listening to, what has been your favorite beverage during this thing? I'm the only male at home now. Down to 3 girls and my wife. It's not fun. I've slowly going through my cabinet. Finished the Sambuca, Ouzo whittled down. A nice little whiskey from KC, Sons of Erin will meet it's demise here in a week. Another suprise is the Members mark blended scotch. Serenity now.

That scotch sounds good !

I've become a whiskey snob. Weller Special reserve, Weller 12 (my favorite), E.H. Taylor Single Barrel (quite good), Blanton's (awesome but gotta ration it), High West BouRye (mix of bourgon and Rye and very nice!), Bowman Brothers, Riegers (KC whiskey, inexpensive but not bad at all) and I have a bottle of Lagavulin Offerman edition that is an awesome Peaty Single malt scotch for when I want something with Character..... yes,,, I have a problem.... I'm fairly sure it is the best preventative for COVID 19,though..... so, I got that going for me.

Man, I haven't heard of half those names. And here I thought Jim Beam and Bacardi Gold were top shelf! LOL

I never thought I would be one of "those" guys, but I do like trying the craft beers. It's a crap shoot and get something I don't like about half the time. Nothing fruity - I want a beer taste. Like porters, amber ales, pilsners - hate IPAs.

I enjoy the breweries with outside live music on weekends - old farts like me and go out, hear some music and drink a few beers, and get home by dark!! Hope we can get back to those days soon.

I love my craft beers and hitting the small breweries. I always explore those on vacation.

That Riegers is good stuff for a blend! Not cheap for a blend though.

I scouted a game back in the early 90s at Valle and saw families coming out out those joints with Stag signs. Reminded me of Europe. Nobody drunk. Good times for all.

Stag isn't available in SWMO anymore. A travesty.

You couldn’t find it in Warrunsburg either. In fact most hadn’t even heard of it. A buddy and myself would go home every few months, and bring back cases of it for people. The taste is ok, mainly drink it for nostalgia reasons at times.

Fighting Cock, Old Crow, and Wild Turkey combined makes a shot called "The Jayhawk".

Here is the beer I miss. Black label, Schmitz, Meiser Brau, Hamms, Olympia, a couple Minnesota beers Phiffer, Haulenstein. In college I got Olympia for 2.89 a 12 pack. Old crow is still one of my favorites. Ten high is still crap.

Hamms...lol.

I miss Schlitz and Molsen. Can't find it outside of Cape.

Have gone through a few bottles of Bulleit 95 Rye and Buffalo Trace. Go to beers have been Natty and some assorted craft samplers. Wife bought some Summer Shandy a few weeks ago when we had a nice warm stretch. Was a refreshing change. Then on May 2nd I decided enough was enough. No alcohol since. Was going to go through the end of the month. However, now headed to the Lake for Memorial Day, so that plan might get changed. But I’m down 13 lbs and need another 10-15. Evidently booze has a negative effect on metabolism and gumption.

My cleansing starts June 1st. I’ll be working too much to partake but it’s a one beer a day limit or I can save those for a one day event...Which will likely be a Saturday afternoon.....

Im in the need to drop a good 30 as well

Starting my program to drop 30 June 1 with a group of friends and with my daughter as the driver. She is a marathoner and work out fanatic so I know it won't be without pain. Of course my indulgence hasn't been liquid spirits. Mine is just plain old mashed potatoes, chicken gravy, homemade noodles, homemade apple pie a la mode (carbs anyone?), etc. I swear momma is trying to feed me into my grave so she can collect my insurance and find a younger man.

I accuse my Italian wife of that all the time...My vice is/was the late night feeding binges and booze. I've always worked out like a fiend. But winters suck because the garage gets too chilly for the CF workouts. Converted one stall into a single persons CF gym basically. But I get soft in the winter and just run on the treadmill in the warm basement. And eat and drink too much. I freaking HATE winter. Had a doc tell me once, 80% of it is in the kitchen. A$$hole was right...unfortunately.

When I was younger, I never kept beer in the house (and I'm a beer drinker from my teens). Just had a few when I went out, which was hardly ever more than once a week (and sometimes not even once a week). Was more expensive, but kind of a built in way to minimize. Now married with kids, I feel like it's a necessity at the house!

“I’m going to start June first?” Bahahahahaha

How many times have I used that one?
As soon as Labor Day is over!!
After Christmas break!!
When the bowl games are over!!
Next Monday I am getting it together!!
One more binge and that’s it, then it’s go time.
I’m serious this time.
I've had that inner dialogue with myself...and previous mentioned Italian wife for a little over a year. Then, for whatever reason, on a random Saturday in early May I just did it. There's sort of a psychological edge to starting on a Saturday and making it to Monday I think.
