Glendale put up crazy stats all year last year as well. They ended up with 2 wins.
I'll take West Plains 42-21 and that's being generous. Camdenton tried throwing the ball when West Plains shut down their running game and it wasn't pretty. 3-4 sacks, 3-4 QB hurries, and an interception. West Plains has a pretty good offense, but it's their defense that wins them games. Glendale's got some talented receivers, but they haven't experienced being hit like West Plains will yet this year.

Agreed. Haven't seen Glendale, but West Plains is pretty salty. Solid defense that gets to the ball, and hits pretty danged hard when they get there. They're strong enough to get on the receivers early, and good enough to get to the QB. I think their offense is pretty good, and don't see them having much trouble moving the ball against Glendale. IMO, it'll be tough for Glendale's offense to get much of a rhythm going.

I agree with several points made I think West Plains will run up and down the field And I agree just off video I've seen they are aggressive physical and fast. But I think Glendale is more potent than you're giving credit, we will find out but I say it's going to be a much closer game than you guys think. Even though the quarterback is a sophomore he seems to have a great understanding of that offense. The D backs will be tested all night long! I'll be absolutely shocked if they can hold Glendale to 21 points.

I don't think it'll be as easy as some are saying. The Glendale offense gets the ball out really quickly, which negates the pass rush. If I were WP, I'd toy with some 2 and 3 man rushes and drop as many into coverage as possible. Especially if they still don't have the Williams kid back yet. Anyone know what his prognosis on returning is?

I agree the falcons offense is explosive . Joplin had em down 49 - 26 early 4th, Glendale came back to make it close score twice in the final 4 min. Joplin is athletic and pretty solid so I see this being a closer game than some think. Like 42-38 or 49-45 .

I don't think that kid will have as much time to throw, and after the first quarter, I think the zizzers will be used to their attack and will be fine. That sophomore QB won't know what to do once they start sacking him every 2 or 3 plays.

Before the first game, my sources told me he would be out a minimum of 6 weeks.

I guess we will see West Plains must be bad to the bone this year! Joplin is not bad and I was shocked at how many yards they gave up to Glendale but I think the offense throws so many times a game they will hit some !

Well that was two years in a row that Glendale jumped out to a three touchdown lead before WP came back to win. If memory serves me correctly, last year West Plains won on the last play of the game off a fake spike/fade to Dietrich.

You are correct sir. If memory serves me correctly, Glendale was also WP's first OC win back during the season opener of 02 @ Glendale. 35-0? I believe

Joplin is not bad??? They have given up 131 points in 3 games!!! Thats 43.6 points per game.

Right, but the WHO they've played is also important. Kickapoo and Glendale are two opponents. High powered offenses will score... West Plains has given up 95, but 68 of those were to Glendale...

LOL....Ok... Take away the Glendale game. Joplin still giving up 41.5 pts per game! Hard to win when you cant play Defense.....Just ask Glendale.

Well I guess we'll see when Joplin comes to West Plains next week for homecoming.
WP is averaging 42 points/game. And if I'm correct, their defense is allowing less than 100 yds a game in rushing. Now granted, Glendale didn't run the ball. But Waynesville is an option team and camdenton was in the I and the stacked I and a little bit of power I all night long.
Now the passing defense last week.... that's a whole different story. They did give up 625 yds to the leading passer in the nation.

Chaotic
In fairness I think he is the leading passer in the nation because you gave up 625 yards passing.:)

As for WP-Joplin. I like WP in this one.

He was the leading passer in the nation before he came to town Corn Frog!! lol.
For real though, he was averaging more passing yards a game and in total yards than anyone else in the country. He's on pace to shatter Cziernewskis record by about 800-1000 more yards. I kind of doubted his talent, but he looked great. Especially for a sophomore.

And I'll take WP in that game too, they lost @ Joplin by 7 last year, one of their three 1-TD losses. Extra motivation with homecoming. I'll take WP by 3 TD's.

Ok ChaoticFanatic, Ive been curious for awhile now, where have you been? It says that you joined back in 2009 but have only recently been posting, your post count is evidence of that. You make some really good points and start some solid threads, plus you run a weekly pickem! So have you been just following along all these years or did you regain your old account when the site changed?

I was mainly just a reader on here the last 10 years or so. I had a different account about a decade ago, but forgot the info and got a new account, etc etc. I did have some posts, but I think it deleted them all when this new system took over or whatever.

I am more of a Red Hot Chilli Peppers kind of guy!
