Of course any smart Company will just pass along this Hike to the Consumer.....thus raising the price of goods and services.

Smart move because now you can tax the Middle Class and Poor and most are not smart enough to realize they are now being taxed with Corporations as the Middle Men to Shield the Gov.

See this I have to agree with...However I think Raising corporate taxes is like raising taxes on middle class and the poor twice almost double taxation.

Companies have to recoup the Burden/cost of those taxes, and that will be in the form of reduce employee compensation thru either reduced benefits or lower wages. And then it will also raise overall cost of the products or services which they provide.

Again the only ones that do not suffer are those at the top they will continue to rack in large salaries and stock compensation because that is where the tax loopholes are and will continue to be. Tax those large corporation for giving out those large benefit packages at the top and and give them large tax breaks for spreading the wealth at the bottom.

Therein lies the issue. But the problem is not taxation. The guilt for screwing the poor middle class falls squarely on the corporation who is being "smart" rather than the government for taxing them. Guess what, though: when tax rates are cut on corporations, they don't share those savings with the consumer either. They buy back stocks, raise CEO compensation, etc. Either way you go, the corporations benefit and the consumer/worker inevitably loses. The problem isn't corporations or government, the problem is human greed. This is not a solvable problem in our government/economic system or in any system. Until humans care about other humans more than they do profits, the poor and middle class will always be taken advantage of.

And we have a winner the Rich are Gonna Be in control from the Politicians/Judges,to the Big Corps/tech and now even the MSM/Entertainment sector........ so I 100% agree nothing will every stop human greed aka human nature.....the only way to help the middle class is to reduce the waste and to stop giving handouts and entitlements. Thus reducing the need for so much taxation. Or at least stop it's need for increases...

I know it's a bitter pill to swallow but it would actually help...both those who have lost their work ethic and those who are getting unfairly taxed from both ends.

They will never at any level tax Benefit packages by a large amount ....or give breaks based on spreading the Wealth at the bottom. I came to that realization 25 years ago, fighting the Rich is a Lost Cause and the Do provide some benefit. Neither side the Red or the Blue are interested in doing what your Propose. The Rich control the purse strings....they Get both sides elected. They control the parties and who within the parties get backing and money to run effective campaigns. Basically the have a huge Upper hand in who is in power.

That is the Reality. I mean this isn't no different than it was in 1939 when Mr.Smith came to Wash. was released..........I'm shocked that most of you haven't figured this out or are you just all Repressing the reality of He Who has the Gold Makes the Rule aka the Golden Rule.

And yes If this happens the Middle Class and Working Class poor will have less income do to goods and services becoming more expensive.

Give up the Fight against the Rich it can't be won short of a Massive physical upheaval from the populace.

The problem is the tax code and tax laws. Good tax lawyers have all kinds of clever ways of avoiding paying taxes.

Everyone knows the stories. A good friend of mine is very successful businessman and told me he writes off $75,000 per year under business entertainment. Besides every meal in a restaurant and ever round of golf, a couple times a year he takes business buddies on fishing and hunting trips, and to college and pro games - I don't mind, he has invited me a couple times, all expenses paid!!

And who Controls and Writes the Tax codes....the very people we elect on both sides. They do so because it benefits them and their Power Elite croonies........and Good luck trying to get anyone else elected they will either be corrupted, ruined by the MSM or give up and go home.

So, to recap, if the system sucks, don't try to change it, live with it and eke out what you can. Feels a little different when you say that part out loud, doesn't it?

This last sentence is the correct answer. And it is inevitable at some point.

I did like one of Bernie Sanders idea in his campaign - throw away the library of tax laws and implement a flat tax on personal income. Everybody pays the same % of their income and no more loopholes, tax shelters, and cock-eyed rules that only the wealthy's accountants and lawyers know how to manipulate.

Sanders campaigned on a 38% flat personal income tax and would include health insurance. Sounded good to me.

I have no issue with anyone trying to change it, never said the system sucks just that it has flaws and limits....but I'm a realist and understand that the Power Elites have always been in control in any economic system. At least in this Social-Capitalistic system we have raised more people out of Poverty and afforded more comfort than in any system in human history. I don't want to tear down the system, just make a tweak or two and going after those in Power isn't the answer as they will only become more authoritarian by use of propaganda, division and the reduction of basic rights under the constitution using what ever crisis in convenient.

That is funny because Steve Forbes was a Big flat tax guy.....you know a Power Elite who ran for president and had about the same chance as Bernie at becoming the main guy.

Here is a article on it......Weird that Bernie is for this Conservative tax plan.....although his 38% across the board is insane IMO, but to pay for healthcare for every shiftless Grifter it would have to be that high. I'd go 15% for the common Folk and above a certain income 20-30% no deductions, no shelters etc. I have zero issue with the Ultra Rich Paying a bit more.

Maybe....I waffle back and forth on that issue. Things will have to get a lot worse from it to happen. And the power elites are trying to take away the rights afforded by the constitution in the First/Second Amendment to make it impossible. Who Checks the Fact Checkers? Who Controls the Narrative? Who Controls the Purse strings?

And most importantly: who will watch the Watchmen?

A flat 38 % percent of my income would bite me, and a lot of people I know, a LOT harder than it would millionaires and billionaires.

I 100% agree that 38% across the board would take away a lot of peoples Have FUN money or at least diminish it and that drives the economy. Of course the Rich would still be having a lot of fun with their disposable income but the Working Class would be on a real tight budget. And I know that you are saying that medical is going to be free....but a lot of people don't use that much medical early in their working careers.

Also offer free medical and people will use that service a lot more.....people on the Care/Caid and Non-pays have no issue coming in and using that service because it's free. Make a Co-pay/Deductible etc. and you don't use it in a frivolous manner as often.

Have you been paying attention to what insurance companies have been doing with co pays/deductibles? Out of pocket expenses have risen 56% since 2011. We can't trust insurance companies by allowing wiggle room to jack up bottom dollar costs to customers for medical care.

Interesting read....

Key findings:

  • Health insurance companies report doubling billion-dollar profits during the pandemic in Q2 2020 compared to Q2 2019.
  • Since 2009, employer health care premiums rose 57%, or an average of $7,459 per year.
  • United Healthcare reported a medical loss ratio of 70.2%, accounting for its record profits in Q2 2020.
  • The Affordable Care Act mandates insurance companies return 80% of profits back to policyholders in the form of rebates.
  • Hospital debt increased from $617 million in 2015 to $56 billion in 2018.

What I've been saying all a long when hospitals raise rates......it get's passed on to the Insurance companies. Then the Insurance companies pass that on to the consumer.

Why do hospitals keep raising rates....because of all the Free Loaders who don't pay. Do you think that Medicaid and Medicare even get close to covering the Cost of Doctors/RN's/Xray/MRI/CAT tech's the new technology etc......heck No and then you have all the 100% non-pays who come into the ER and Must be treated no matter the Cost. This adds up quickly and who foots the Bill.........

Well let's see some of it is payed by the tax payer those who work.....you know those who don't get freebies ....you know who pay for insurance and then have to make up the difference when that cost get's passed on to them again in raised insurance rates. Again those who work are hit triple double time with the cost,taxes,premiums,co-pays,deductibles.....

Simple solution....healthcare is a benefit and a service. If you can't pay you don't receive treatment.....but that would never go because of the bleeding hearts.

Really what needs to happen is that you have two system's....the bargain basement healthcare for those who can't pay get basic care with antiquated treatments and technology lesser staff etc......And those who can pay get the Elite Healthcare for those who have Private Insurance. Then those who pay for it would receive Great care at a lesser price and the Insurance Companies could still make a nice Tidy Profit.

But instead we will got to all Freebie system with 350 million people upping their usage of it.
