Lockwood played well. They seemed to have all their players. Limited Miller to 8 possession’s the entire game. Miller look good on offense scoring 5TD’s and missing a couple FG’s on the other possessions. Miller just could not stop Lockwoods run game. They just kept getting 3-4 yards a pop. Miller better tighten it up on Defense or they will get blown out next week

Yep, you nailed it.
That 3 yards a whack kept the ball away from Miller. Miller ran 1 play in the 3rd qtr. Miller has the ingredients but not the binder. They just seem to lack the mental toughness to be sharp EVERY play. Physically they are improved but just don't do it with consistency.
Lockwood gets everything they can out of what they've got. Wish I could say that about Miller. Just to be clear though, there are players who are visibly giving GREAT effort. I don't know how Nick Johnson could do more. He is now running with more authority to go with his allusiveness and his kicking speaks for itself. He is even a leader on Defense. Clay Allen plays with a great motor and is a tough matchup for every team. Justin Jeffers plays way above his stature. Preston Richardson is very steadying at QB and is solid on D. I will stop there but I suspect even those can dig deeper. The rest (I realize I could have gave more positive examples) need to follow their lead of playing hard every play and not telling the world how great they are when they smash some poor kid trying to play at the varsity level for a bad team who is giving everything he has.
This week is an opportunity to do it. For a bunch of Seniors, this is their best chance to show how special they could be with the right focus. Truly hope it happens. GO CARDS!

Actually we did not have all our players. We had 3 starters out. We had to play 5 starters out of their normal positions. 2 JV kids at corner and never understood why Kleeman didn't run a fade on every play. Our kids have a lot of grit and heart and really proud of how they played. Dunlap having 2 hurting ankles and still running like he did on them is simply amazing. Maybe one of the toughest kids I've ever seen play.
