Ignoring all of the what-ifs about the longevity of this season, it appears we’ll at least get 1 week of football action. So what games are going to be worth watching? Any that might be big factors in deciding conference champions down the road?

Blair Oaks vs Maryville. Being played at University of Central Missouri this year.
Scotland County at Marceline. Lewis and Clark Conference.

dont know if it's a must watch game, but St Joe Lafayette will play Harrisonville week one... deal was done just a few days ago.

Mr. Dean, did you see where Monroe City canceled its game at St. Pius X?

yes I saw that. I wonder why, unless they just didnt want to drive across the state
seems that is St Pius of Festus, and that county has had an increase in COVID cases, according to a TV Station Website from that area.

Pierce City hasn’t lost a regular season game in like, 3-4 years? They graduated a huge senior class though, and play Lockwood on Friday. Don’t know much about LW, but they’re usually contenders in the SWC and have a big senior class.

And Marshall beating Chilli this week 😝
*gives the politically, sportsmanship correct reply* I know Marshall has their gunslinger back at QB and we have a heck of a lot of new faces starting. We'll line up and see what happens. (Can you tell I've interviewed coaches for over 30 years) LOL

Webb could win by 50 but I predict turbo by half and then he takes it easy on them.
I'm definitely not saying Joplin is going to win, but I do think some of you will be surprised with their team this year. They don't have the stars, but they're pretty deep. Keep an eye on the Dante Washington kid. He's going to be a good one.

god forbid the community get excited about a special season.
I know right? I only have loose connections to that program at this point but still follow the eagles and occasionally go to games there if it's an intriguing match up. I was really happy to see them do so well the last few years and was happy for their fans. Long time coming.

A lot of my Webb fans mocked Carthage for celebrating on the field with such enthusiasm in 07 but I don't think they understand what it's like to beat a team you've lost to for 20 straight years and many playoff hopes also crushed by said team.

That’s one of my favorite memories. Hated losing to Carthage but to see that much excitement from them was pretty special.

I like WC’s chances but just because Joplin isn’t likely to be where they were the last couple years doesn’t mean they won’t be a real good test. Remind you that no one is a well oiled machine in week 1.

Jackson @ Fort Zumwalt and Fort Zumwalt North @ Battle. We'll have all the highlights of both games.

Jackson is definitely one of the best teams in all of the state this year and Zumwalt West is coming off a final four appearance. Still, I think West will have to play nearly perfect to knock off Jackson. The Indians have an incredible offense on paper with Welker back at QB for year No. 3 and return all of their offensive line including Connor Tollison, who is on his way to Mizzou.

Zumwalt North and Battle is a rare non-area rivalry game given how both teams have seen each other a lot since 2014 in the playoffs. Two perennial solid programs should provide for a good game.
