Ok, I might be behind the times on this one, but does anyone know they these two teams play every year in November? It seems to always be around the 20th, and if both teams are in the playoffs, then the JV teams play?

They're called Turkey day games. A lot of high school rivalry games used to be played on Thanksgiving every year. Just a tradition. I believe years ago, West Plains/Willow Springs used to have a turkey day game every year. The high school seasons were usually over by then. Nowadays, the seasons technically aren't over then.

Harrisonville had a rivalry game in the 1920's and 1930's on Armistice Day (now Veterans Day.) They played either Lee's Summit or Pleasant Hill.

That is interesting. Do you know WHY they play this game? I am guessing its some sort of tradition but where and why did it start.

Why? Because it's what Kirkwood and Webster Groves have done on nearly every year for 100+ years.

Kirkwood 35 Webster 7

The 1st half was mess.

Could of run the coach Mike Maguire ' Lets see how many defensive tackles we can put out of the game ' offense'

They let the game get away, then turbo clocked.
