Webb's Last Class 4 Championship game?

Wow. That would be awesome. Although, I don't know who all is in line to have a big year from the KC side in Class 5. I think Fort Osage is due for a big drop off next yr (just what I've heard). Not sure about the schools up north.

Word on the street around the greater Joplin/ Webb City area is that Webb's number is flat or even down slightly from the last cycle.

In combining the question at the beginning of this thread with the thoughts and arguments from another thread about state champions moving up the following cycle, I thought I’d just offer what seems to be the best idea of all. It’s pretty straightforward.

We’ll just use Class 4 for my example, but this would then apply to all classes except Class 6 (unless we eventually feel we need a new Class 7).

At the conclusion of the football season, a Class 4 champion is crowned at the dome (hypothetically, Webb City). In my system, Webb needs to move to Class 5 since they won it all. Here’s how it happens. Let’s say their future enrollment numbers need another 126 students to qualify for Class 5. We plug that into the “get them out of our way” formula, which is 126 divided by 63 non-winning programs in Class 4. This equals 2 of course (126/63). So every Class 4 football coach selects his two worst players, and let’s their families know that they are kicked out of town and must move to Webb City and enroll their kids there.

A win-win for everyone. Webb must move up to Class 5, so now other Class 4 teams have a chance to win a state championship. And these “worst” football players become stars at Webb City, because they develop quickly under the hard work system and under the tutelage of a great coaching staff. Their first year at Webb City, they letter in football, buy a new letter jacket, and affix a “Class 5 State Football Champions” patch to the back. Everybody’s happy!

Happy Thanksgiving everyone!

I think we should make all kids run a 40 for time at the start of the season, then handicap them and make them carry weight like racehorses do so that would level everything out . Kids in private schools must carry 135% of the weight public schools do

When I was at Park Hill for the FtO quarterfinal game, I overheard someone say Park Hill is moving to Class 6 next year. Any truth to this?

Webb building neighborhood after neighborhood in Oronogo but numbers stay the same.....how much did FEMA contribute to the 9 million dollar dome?????

It was a 20 million dollar project. Fema paid for the structure. Webb city paid to furnish it basically
