Webb Defense gives up 8.3 ppg

That is a staggering statistic. I knew they were good but forgot how many shut outs and near shut outs they had. The only teams to score more than once on Webb this year were Joplin and Willard. I'm excited to see how well they do outside of the COC

I don't care about ppg. What I'm interested in is what is their opponents average YPC .? If it's over 2 yds id be shocked .

As far as ppg ...Joplin scored 35 (7 was a pick 6) Carthage scored 7 . Willard 21 . Neosho and republic both scored 6 but that was on the reserves and then 4 shutouts

Got a glimpse of that vaunted WC defense sporting their new uni’s.

And got shut out by Platte County.

And got shut out by Platte County.

They did. But the defense is playing great.

Other Sub Blue teams with winning records:
Grain Valley 12.5 not including Raytown
14.7 all games

Platte County 15.75 not including Ray-Pec
19.2 all games

Kearney 18.6 not including Staley
22.3 all games

Winnetonka 27.1 not including Van Horn
28.4 all games

A
Not including games huh? ...ok Webb 4.4 not including Joplin
And that’s the point I was making. Even if you take games away from Kearney, Platte County, and Grain Valley that Smithville is still much better in regards to defensive PPG.

And obviously Webb is the program every other team in the state is trying to replicate. The Cardinal program doesn’t speak for itself, it shouts. The 8.3 is impressive on it’s own. The 4.4 is insane.

Jackson allowed 7.1 per game, but their defense only allowed 6.4. There was a pick-6 in the last game.

lets not go there
Not sure but I think you missed the sarcasm?

I was contrasting these greats to Kelsey as I posted this gif. I dislike that guy more all the time the way he dances and makes a fool of himself every time he realizes he has a camera on him. Even while getting beat by the Packers. I’ve always been a Chiefs fan so not a Steelers fan but I certainly respect the way Greenwood, Mean Joe et al played the game.

But Jackson hasn't played anybody. Webb City's strength of schedule is much higher and that is with a bunch of Class 4 teams.
Webb has only played 2 teams with winning records, losing to one... but that’s a MUCH higher SOS?

Jackson played four C4s and five C5s. One of those C4s is projected to end up in Columbia against Webb and one C5 is still ranked #9.

For years, Jackson has had difficulty getting better opponents because they’re in sparsely populated SEMO. What can they do? They’ve scheduled Parkway SD teams, hoping those teams will have good years, PN and PC are down lately. Hasn’t been that long ago PC had great teams. Jackson’s played Battle, an independent school that recently won a championship (likely another weak C5 year then, too); that’s not enough either, huh?

In the final analysis, Jackson is ranked #6 overall on MaxPreps for good reason and Webb is there right below them at #7 for good reason, too. Chaps some people, I know, but it is what it is.

Some things are sacred bro. The Steel Curtain was the greatest defense of all time over a prolonged period. Be careful. :)
