Webb got toasted on an 86 yard td pass when the nearest defender was 20 yards away. Geez
Webb had maybe 8 yards of offense and zero first downs on their first 4 possessions but a fumbled punt return followed by another fumbled kick return has given webb city a lot to get excited about in a short period of time. What looked like a possible 3 score defecit could be a tied up game now!
Called it on the other thread, special teams every year in this game. Can’t believe this one is tied up. Certainly a different game than the first one.
Kudos to Carthage still in it after giving up 21 straight points without running even one play on offense, then getting flagged for roughing the kicker after a nice defensive stand to give Webb a 1st down. Seemed like absolutely nothing was going carthages way in the second quarter but it’s a tie game so anyone can get the prize.
It’s tied 21-21 but using webbie logic Carthage actually scored Webb cities points so they are winning even if the scoreboard doesnt reflect it.
Largest Webb crowd I’ve seen in quite awhile and they came real early. Definitely a fun atmosphere tonight.

Still not entirely sure how Webb was awarded a first down after a 5 yard running into the kicker on 4th & 6. I thought only roughing the kicker was an automatic 1st down
More like kudos to Webb for coming back down 14-0 with nothing going right for them
Scoreboard read 4th and 5 … I had no angle on the line of scrimmage but I checked the scoreboard after the flag.

Well I mean they were handed the ball inside the 20 three times in a row so if they weren’t back in it that would have just underscored they don’t deserve to win. But they did capitalize and did so quite nicely I might add.
I get so tired of watching this absolute nonsense every year. Webb pulls plays out of their rear end better than any team in the country.

Webb is just in the head of Carthage. This is why I asked last week if anyone on planet earth thought Carthage would win this game. Carthage makes 1 mistake and it is over.
Webb gets defensive stop on fourth down to start fourth quarter… Webb does what Webb does best, control the ball, run the clock and scores with 4:27 remaining. Got the ball with 11:53 to start the drive.
Yeah and it’s why i said 8 weeks ago when Webb looked awful losing to ozark that they would still beat Carthage in district if given the chance. Like I said, I’ve heard this story before. Game seems to favor Carthage by most metrics but Carthage is 1-7 vs Webb city in post season. Carthage doesn’t seem to do this in big games against any other opponent. I would have thought winning 3 or 4 straight against them in regular season might help that but apparently not.
