looks like the old glory years..............I think the entire town of Camdenton is in purple and at this one!

Fun fact: the last time Webb lost to Camdenton the score was 21-14 in the state quarterfinals at Cardinal Stadium. Besides today being the perfect football weather the game is eerily similar so far. Let's hope for a different outcome.

Lakers are at that brink point now. Offense just isn't balanced enough and the D has played its heart out but is wearing down if just a bit.............

WOW this feels exactly like the 2015 title game. Happy as I was my alma mater won I felt horrible for the Webb RB who fumbled into the end zone. I really feel for the Camdenton PK...............was actually shocked they decided to go for OT instead of the win.

The things that stuck out to me were 1) Webb City's defense - Camdenton seemed to be having an extremely difficult time doing what they wanted to do. Eventually the defense started to wear but for the most part it was really impressive.
2) Camdenton's center snaps waaay to high. There were 2 (or 3?) over the head of the QB and probably more than a dozen that looked awkwardly high. That might have been the biggest problem for Camdenton.
3) I've never seen Webb City commit so many sloppy penalties!!

I'll be honest I expected a 35-7ish WC win but Camdenton really showed up. The cardinals are fortunate to be playing next week.

Me too, it's always a gamble but I was totally expecting to see them try and get the win. WC's defense was finally looking a little worn.

Both defenses were done the last half of the 4th. Will take awhile to digest this one.

Camdenton played lights out. I feel so bad for their kicker. Webb City defense kept them in the game all day long but dang near lost it with the penalties at the end. Lesser teams would have gotten smoked today. Glad Webb was able to pull off the win.
Congratulations to Camdenton on a great season and heck of a game!

Between 1992 and today I get Camdenton never lets a match-up with WC come down to a kick again.

WC needs to clean up some stuff on offense and hopefully both RBs are back and able to go next week because Ladie looks impressive.

Webb needs to get healthy! I feel awful for the kicker, I personally went for 2, but they must of known Webb had no rbs left! Gutty/ugly performance from Webb! Great season Camdenton!

I only heard the last 3 minutes of the game and that was exciting! I was surprised they didn't go for two. Just in those 3 minutes it sounded like Camdenton couldn't run the ball. Feel for the PK.

They literally were in empty 98% of the game. On the three or four plays they ran they got pushed back.

Seems like WC was too conservative bringing pressure. Their three down linemen were getting the QB on the ropes but just lacked the speed to finish the deal A LOT.

Overall WC just didn’t seem to have their heads in the game and made A LOT of mental mistakes. Very lucky to be moving on. I hate seeing a kicker decide it but it is what it is.

I can remember when WC lost at state and people criticized Coach Rod for going for 2; and that he should have tied the game. I think today proves you just never know with a bunch of young kids. I remember he said back then that he didn’t want it to fall on the shoulders of one player. Today that call makes a lot more sense, eh?
As armchair QB’s, we can all say what they should have done...

Rules question : on Camndentons final drive they had 3rd and 19 ....Complete a pass for 13 yards or so ....on the play there was a flag for defensive holding on the play. It was my understanding you can either take the flag and replay the down or decline the flag and take the result of the play. In this circumstance they took the result of the play then half the distance of the goalline for the flag and then replayed the down . So it became 3rd and 2. Didn't seem right to me but maybe I'm wrong

I thought the WC game plan of rushing 3 much of the game was very sound. A number of times Camdenton was behind the chains and the QB threw several up for grans. A couple happen to be caught.

What really hurt WC today was the penalties especially jumping on the hard count. I don’t think I remember a game where it worked 4-5 times.

WC o-line struggled at times against a smaller , quick Camdenton front. Sometimes I think a bigger d-line is a better match-up. I suppose that theory will be tested next week.

They didn’t take both but the officials were supposed to mark it half the distance from the previous play and instead marked it from where the series started. So it was about a 13yd penalty instead of half the distance from about the 19.

They walked off the yardage from where the wr was tackled . If they took the flag it would have been a 10 yd penalty from the Los and 3rd and 9 . Am I incorrect in thinking this?

Edit: they took the flag from the spot and walked it off from there ....makes sense now .

The flag was in the secondary so maybe it was a spot foul from the flag and half the distance from there .....only thing that makes sense unless the refs were just wrong

I know in the NFL defensive holding isn't a spot foul .....it's 5 yds from Los and automatic first down ....I'm sure hs is different but idk how it's supposed to be called . The whole sequence of events just seemed off to me

Think of it this way. A pass is thrown 30 yards down the field. Pass interference 15 yards. If it called defensive holding thigh it would be 10 yard penalty from where the holding occurred downfield making it s 40 yard penalty?
