REPUBLIC had I think 2 first downs . They scored after webb fumbled on the 1 yd line on a 99 yd TD pass on 3rd and 10

The long losing streak ends. First win since before Thanksgiving get last year!

Come on webbies you won tonight. Lose a few games and everyone jumps ship. Fair weather fans.

As I thought it looked week one the QBs needed game time and to show the cojones to run the ball which we didnt week one. Mr. Link #2 looked much much better and had some great reads with late pitches. Not the fastest but hey he ran well tonight. The fumble from 2 inches out on the snap is unnerving but he will grow and overcome. Give Republic Kuddos on the deep ball on third down for the TD. Perfect pitch and catch. Still think by Districts the Trophys coming home.....And no Im not saying I expect a ring but by week 10 they will make noise.

BS. Smart enough about the game to know what were looking at. Sitting 0-2 Our Home side stands were full, Thats goal line to goal, what 3500 fans doesnt sound like ship jumpers to me. WEBB rsidents have never not passed a bond for their schools we support them in all aspects being 0-2 or 0-10wouldnt and didnt change anything...

No, just spoiled. How much game time did your back ups get last year? Up till this year it has been plug n play. But I agree, come week 10 they will be fine.

My observations

1) Republic looked like a team playing in a moment too big for them. Playing @ WC with a chance to be the third COC team to knock them off. To me they just looked to be playing scared the entire night.

2) Webb City offensive line looked much sharper tonight.

3) QB played fairly well, looks to me he is riding the ball too far with the RB, which is what is causing some of the fumbling issues. Lost one of those tonights on a bad mesh, the others they recovered.

4) VERY surprising to see the WC defensive line dominate the LOS. With 3 starters out I fully expected the Cardinal secondary to have to step up big to give WC a chance. Backup Dline stepped up.

WEBB backups always get a ton of game time. Now at some positions you may have multiple seniors so how much did these guys all get I cant answer that. JROD has never cared about anyone getting their stats padded hence why alot of times we might have a RB averaging 10 yards a carry and he wont even be in the top 10 in conference in rushing yards. Because by the third after 9-10 carries hes on the sidelines.

WC defense started 4 seniors, 6 juniors and a Soph. Obviously injuries had a little to do with that but it was a young team out there and they responded very well.

I also thought the offensive line took a huge step forward.

Still a long way to go but huge improvement obviously over first 2 games.

This Webb team has alot more difficult games ahead. I really doubt we see a four way tie.

After the Carthage game, I saw more positives then I did against CJ. Tonight, those came apparent. Webb looked like it's old self. Dominating on the ground with a defense to match. Very good first half. Then the fumbles came back in the 2nd half. QB played excellent last night too. Really took control running the ball. Webb will be fine going forward.

WC did kind of what I was expecting them to do at Carthage. Still some fumbles but the timing and frequency wasn't detrimental like it was in previous games. Overall I thought WC's offense looked to finally resemble what would be considered typical. Not to discount WC's win, but I thought Republic looked pretty lousy particularly on offense. The offense looked clumsy and out of sync, awkward snaps and hand offs, and almost totally incapable of progressing the ball forward. You could credit the WC defense but I think much of it was Republic's own doing... as many people credited CJ's win to mostly a poor performance by WC. Really it kind of seemed as though Republic came in expecting to get a piece of the pie and just wasn't in the right mindset for a tough football game.

Class 4 State Champ is coming from St. Louis this year, Parkway North.

You might turn out to be right. Definitely the teams from SWMO have proven to be beatable so far this year but I'm not sure who Parkway North has played that would make them a favorite over the defending state champ (Kearney) at this point, let alone the other contenders. I certainly wouldn't call off the rest of the games at this point.

My assessment through week 3 is that CJ isn't as good as they have been the last couple years but obviously WC is not as well. The addition of Camdenton to the district makes things interesting and is clearly an upgrade over Logan-Rogersville (no offense Mitsurbi San) but West Plains and Bolivar look to be down compared to last year as well.

Week 3 isn't week 10 though so things could be different in a couple months. Whatever team survives the district if they are good enough to beat Harrisonville they will have their act together enough to be a tough out for Parkway North even if they are your team to beat.

Must be more than just fumbles? Ozark 17 Webb 12
