I saw on another post that the West Central Conference may be disbanding. Any truth? What is in the plans for Warrensburg, Smith-Cotton, KC Center, St Pius, Nevada and Clinton (am I missing anybody)?

I have heard that Nevada would like to go back to the big 8, but I doubt that will happen. McDonald County just moved into to replace Carl Junction.

St. Pius is joining the MEC next year after Smithville leaves for the Suburban conference in KC.

Mac County was accepted to the Big 8 Before it was known CJ was moving. The biggest hurdle with Nevada joining is probable the distance to Cassville, and Cassville's resistance to want to make that long trip in other sports. I am sure Lamar would love for them to join.

Actually, since this is the start of a new 2 year cycle, Pius goes to the MEC after next year, so that would be the 2018 season

Grain Valley is leaving the MRVC in 2018, so I guess they will be looking for someone to replace them. Maybe Warrensburg. You are missing O'Hara and I think they are closing.

I think I did hear Warrensburg is going to the MRVC. IS O'Hara closing or just moving location?

Ok I see makes sense. Now Smithville will leave after this year correct?

Burg is going to the MRVC. Nevada maybe to the Big 8 or COC small? S-C will probably go independent, since the Columbia schools don't want to be in a conference. Otherwise, they may go to the conference with Marshall, Mexico, Hannibal, etc. (I forget the name) Pius to the MEC. Not sure about Center. Clinton is going to go South as well.

St. Michael the Archangel is supposed to open next fall in Lee's Summit and not far from Blue Springs. I assume that O'Hara will then close. I would think it will have a much larger enrollment than does O'Hara.

NCMC is the conference you are referring to (North Central Missouri Conference).

Right, and I doubt S-C would be a good fit there. Fulton, Mexico & Boonville are class 3, and the rest are class 4. S-C would be the only class 5. Plus Kirksville & Hannibal are very looonnng trips from Sedalia.

It's not far off the interstate and well-positioned to draw from not only BS and LS but also Independence. Could affect Rockhurst, St. Teresa's and even Sion draws from theach East Jackson County area.

the new school might affect enrollment a little bit, but parents that want to send their little all stars to rockburst for athletics are still going to do that.

so instead of having 300 boys in the freshman class, they might have 275.

Might be some time for some new conferences:

Clinton
El Dorado Springs
Nevada
