Great game. Could have gone either way
Great game. Could have gone either way
washMOSports, What was great about this game ( 73 points for both teams )
A winning college coach was fired @ St. Louis University back in 2007 with a 20-13 record. His name was Brad Soderberg who coached @ Wisconsin and five years @ St. Louis University.
Brad's record:
2000-2001----26-16-- @ Wisconsin--NCAA--Top 25 team in final AP poll.
2002-2003----16-14--@ SLU
2003-2004----19-13
2004-2005----09-13
2005-2006----16-13
2006-2007----20-13---First 20 game winner in the last 15 years
One NCAA bid
Two NIT Bids
One of the reasons given for Brad's dismissal was " Nobody likes to see low scoring games! " Brad Soderberg is now an asst @ Virginia and there are stories how he was hired @ Virginia.
washMOSports, could you tell us one more time how this 40-33 score was a great game? Just kidding you washMO, I'm sure this was exciting for the Washington fans, but remember Brad Soderberg was fired for winning and having low scoring games.
Good post, blacktiger. Low scores do not always tell you talent-level of play. They often tell you more of the style of play.If low scores are going to get coaches fired then 50% of the coaches in Missouri are going to get fired....look at the scores on STL Today and many are in the 40's...or worse...

blacktiger, It has been a while since I have talked with you. Concerning your post on a 40-33 post. The Washington-Borgia game was not in the 40's. ( In the 30's ) My post on low scoring games was for my friend washMOSorts about his post on ' Great Game " and he did not back off the great game post.
The Washington Bluejays have not had a 500 record in a while so they are excited on their fast start. It appears the Borgia Knights are not enrolling the talent of the past but that could change in the near future. Pacific enrolled a four year varsity starting 6'6" freshmen this year. ( He's gonna be a good one and appears to be in good hands @ Pacific ) ) Ten years ago this would have been a Borgia player.
Metro you’re way out there on that one. Ha ha.
Blacktiger tried to get me killed at Borgia but it wasn’t a Borgia fan that he introduced me to. Ha ha
I just so happened to be in Degreef Gymnasium tonight to supervise for the girls tournament...final score was 41-35.
I was chuckling about about that moment many years ago. I am blaming Fitzwater because it was his call that set those events in motion.
