The only way this war can be managed is to get the tribes involved to make it happen. We, nor any country can force our beliefs on these people, unless you occupy and and rule by force. Good luck with that being accepted by the American people. Start a volunteer army of the refugees. Vett them every way possible. Then those who get through the vetting can volunteer to serve on the front lines. Train them like all of our troops. While serving their families are allowed to come into our country. Once they have served our country with honor they can get fast tracked to citizenship. .

Thinking a war can be won in the middle east is foolish, but it could be managed. Probably not. Religious wars are insane

Refugee "volunteers"?
I don't like the costs of war (any of them), I also don't like the costs of inaction either. Like it or not, the radical islamists are not going to stop on their own and will only be slowed by much muscle flexing. Until we pulled out of Iraq, things were pretty subdued. It wouldn't take a half million to regain that but there are many other places for them to go. If their numbers weren't growing rapidly, they could be pretty much ignored. As is, the longer we wait to truly engage the greater the difficulty.

Interesting thought.
Since no records are available from Syria in which a background check has a legitimate paper trail, it's certainly an alternative. Farfetched, but workable.

there is no realistic way to do that even though it sounds great. We can't even build an acceptable force out of Syrians who are already willing to fight.

Most of the people you train would defect to some other group pretty quickly. It's a great way to train and arm al Nusra's next 1,000 recruits.

I agree but I had been drinking again. Bad habit. Bottom line until congress is ready to get their hands dirty and quit grandstanding, I wouldn't expect much to change.

You think cowards who ran from there homeland will fight to gain it back? That's as likely as Rumor throwing an extra nickel in the pass around to adopt a Syrian family.

And youre being ridiculous. Anytime somebody questions your position it's a red herring, but your stances are rock solid and of the most importance.
Not sure about most important, but usually rock solid built on facts.
