The 3 time defending state champions are looming at the #8 slot in the state rankings. Any thoughts on if they can compete for a 4th state championship? They've played a very loaded schedule and are now into there class 1 schedule and they are competing very well. Any thoughts?????

It's a possibility for sure. Both teams have a very good chance to get to Columbia unsure what happens when they get there but both teams will compete very hard. The North has a lot of good teams just unsure if they've been tested by great competition throughout the season.
Naylor has taken a few lumps but they play a tough schedule. Loses to, ranked Class 4 Dexter twice. Both about 10 point games. Naylor played with them for 3 qtrs but lack of depth hurt them. Class 5 Poplar Bluff, played really bad. Class 4 Jackson, Neelyville and Incarnate Word, not even close on that one.
They have played really well and then really bad at times. But they seem to coming together and playing the best they have all year. The guards have really improved through the year.

They will more than likely be there again. Sounds like they have had a tough schedule like Wg has had. Tough schedules just prepare you for what is ahead.
Walnut Grove always plays a tough schedule which helps them this time of year. Drexel will probably match up with them again in the quarterfinal but lost their point guard to ACL injury and will rely heavily on their senior star to advance past the tigers whom have bested them the last few years..
The EPA needs to make a visit to Walnut Grove very soon...
There must be unusual contaminates in the local water supply..!

Drexel has arguably the best player in class 1. they also have good shooting(streaky though). if they shoot well they will be a tough out
Wg girls will be tough to beat. Great inside out play and play great defense. They are fairly young but tradition is hard to beat because they believe they can win every game.
agreed. confidence breeds good play. I would like Drexel's chances if Maddy Jones(starting point guard) was playing. She is great on ball defender and can score inside out. Drexel plays great at times but WG has owned the matchup
Looks like it will be another Drexel vs. Walnut Grove Lady Tigers in the Quarterfinals. Lady Tigers played very well last night. Any thoughts on the upcoming matchup????
Naylor is doing their part to get there again. It could be a rematch of last years title game with Naylor/ WG in the semi this year.
from what little I have seen WG shoots excellent from outside. I have heard they play good d also. we know they are coached well too. I think if Drexel is able to control the tempo it favors them especially if Bolton has a big game offensively. On the flip side, WG has done a great job the last few years of controlling the play and dictating tempo. If they do that, they will win.
I think it will be a great game and I'm very anxious to see a gymnasium full of Walnut Grove faithful fans that travel very well. And a lot of Drexel fans as well cheering on two very good basketball programs.
