Wacha has benefited from good run support most of the season but he has been good a lot more than he's been bad. When the offense averages 6 runs per start you should probably win 17 games. I still say Martinez would be the most effective of any of the starters but the way he's pitched the 2 or 3 times out they can't take him out of the playoff rotation in the first round at least. I just don't know how well any of the other guys will do coming out of the pen. Maybe that's where Wainwright will help for however long the playoff run goes.

They said tonight the Cards have won over 70 games and lost only 3 when leading after 7 innings. I see no reason to mess with the late inning pen guys with that kind of record.
