After cutting funding to the CDC's pandemic prevention program in 2018, and trying to downplay the coronavirus threat for weeks by assuring Americans that it is "just a bad cold" and "will go away in a couple months", now suddenly we have a national emergency. Another example of how he thinks he knows more than the experts.

I went to bed thinking wow this is an overreaction, but if I get it I like the fact that I will get Tamiflu or something else without a copay. I felt bad for those who are stuck in Europe. I truly thought the payroll tax cut, was way overboard, and just trying to save the economy.
This morning I wake up and watch the news say everything he said was a mistake. Tweets later in the night contradict most of the speech. I watched Pence this morning, and still don't know if I am going to have to pay for Tamiflu or not.
It was truly insane that they did not have their facts straight about what he was having done.

Payroll tax misses the point, which is the people really affected are in industries where they aren't getting paid. Payroll tax cuts accrue most heavily to the people at MSFT who are simply working from home now. Better bang for your buck to pay more acutely affected workers.

Trump mentioned steps he will take with the economy several times in his speech, but no mention of when tests are becoming available or preparations for dealing with large outbreaks at the local levels. He's more worried about campaigning on the economy. After weeks of downplaying the spread of the virus, announcing "it's just a bad cold" and "it will be over in a couple months", now he's feeding the public a lie about how well the fed govt is prepared to deal with outbreaks in the US.

We can get mad all we want about Trump's speech last night regarding the virus. But I'm assuming you guys didn't know that Pelosi was looking to include a way to guarantee federal funding for abortion into the coronavirus economic stimulus plan.
To break it down, Pelosi was trying to make sure taxpayer dollars are spent covering abortion in this plan that was supposed to be for the coronavirus.
So you can say all you want about the job Trump is doing with the virus. But Pelosi was actively trying to fund abortion instead. And she REALLY needs that vacation next week so I doubt anything does get done.

And Biden just ended his Coronavirus speech with "God Bless our Troops" and absolutely no questions. I suppose because his past experiences with a virus ended with only 61 million Americans infected and 12,000 dead. And the teleprompter didn't have answers to those questions on it.

He may not have said, "I know more than the medical experts." But his actions say that by dismissing the experts, and saying I have a natural ability to understand it.

The economy is the worse aspect of this whole thing and is doing more damage than the Virus. If you are under 60yrs of age it's a nothing event. Trying to ease the masses fear and worry is the Best thing the Gov. can do......Why because unless you want to go Full China then there is really nothing we can do. A cure is in reality 2 years away. The Gov. can't whip up testing Kits out of thin air and really it's not necessary to Test those who are not infected just to get a Super Duper accurate fatality rate at this point.

Isn’t a wall and banning travel at least part of a plan. Shut down major sporting events and concerts but not restrict travel.
Travel ban is mostly too late to be terribly meaningful. You really need to control domestic travel from hot spots more and promote social distancing. It’s here and and almost no one was flying internationally anyway at this point
Walls literally stop the spread of germs. Quarantines are nearly always done inside the walls. Dr. Fauci and everyone agrees travel restrictions have slowed the virus. The China travel restriction was done in a timely manner.
