Trump requiring business to stay open

communism or authoritarian?
Both but worse. The Democrats don't give a darn about the less fortunate. They want to keep the economy closed and send the poor a check so they'll shut up while they go on living the high life. They sneer at anyone wanting to make an independent living.

Yep same gibberish from beavis

I saw some restaurant owners in STL say on the news that they were not opening on Monday. 20 deaths in STL County today - their most to date.

STL is just now peaking.

Trump plans to use the Defense Production Act to order the companies to stay open as critical infrastructure, and the government will provide additional protective gear for employees as well as guidance, according to the person.

The order sets the stage for a showdown between America’s meat giants, which have been pressing to reopen plants, and some local officials and labor unions who’ve called for closures in a bid to prevent the virus from spreading.

So, it appears the plants want to be open and Trump is giving them the tools to do so. Once again not as the liberals (Veer) are spinning it.

People begged him to use the Defense Production Act for PPE and Rona Tests, but noooooooo. Let’s use it for Bratwurst instead.

And now they are preparing to make a move to make businesses free of liability from Rona so he can force workers to work elbow to elbow packing meat in unsafe workplaces.

But he cares about regular folks
Maybe he should open mar a lago

How fool?
Who is he forcing to stay open? He's forcing the government to ALLOW them to open.
he's forcing them to stay open. But he's doing it to protect his rich buddies from all the lawsuits that will come after all their employees get the cov19.

Sick.

Wonder why he isn't forcing his own businesses to stay open.

1) He isn't forcing ANY business to stay open. It is voluntary.
2) He isn't forcing ANY worker to report. It's voluntary.
3) He's preventing lawsuits from UNIONS demanding total shutdowns and lawmakers saying they aren't essential. Food is not essential you know.

He's protecting them from liability over death/sickness from COV19.

Sick

your article doesn't say that.
https://www.bbc.com/news/world-us-canada-52466502
It does say this:
A White House official told US media it will work with the Department of Labor to issue guidance for vulnerable workers, such as over-65s and those with chronic health conditions, to stay at home.

Add that the government will be providing any necessary PPE and that is obviously not the case. No one will lose their job for staying home. It is a case of....if you want to work, we need meat and no one can stop you from working.

You know i really dont know why you're obtuse. Im guessing you're a typical trumper that never admits fault or when you're wrong.
The headline .

Obtuse....wouldn't that be pointing to a headline that doesn't mention a worker lawsuits, or immunity?
PLANTS are to be open (as that headline says). No one can shut them down.....unions, lawmakers.......they are to be kept open.

I hope these plants are union. That all sounds fine on paper, but in the real world that not always how things work. These plants are assembly lines with people shoulder to shoulder and back to back. Are all precautions going to take place - 6' social distancing maintained on the assembly line, hand sanitizers everywhere, work stations disinfected regularly, abundance of masks and clean gloves? How do you know you won't be replaced if you don't go back to work? The workers at the South Dakota plant were complaining about spreading the virus weeks before they shut down.
I do have a problem with the liability issue of relieving the companies of all responsibility for the spread of the virus. That's a license to put workers at risk without any union oversight.

It's been quite clear in the reporting that Trump's order would include immunity from worker lawsuits due to illness

i don’t think it removes them of ALL responsibility. They can’t knowingly put workers in harms way.

interruptions in our food supply here are a big inconvenience but the eventual result is increased starvation deaths in 3rd world countries so the solution isn’t a simple one.
