This shows how weak the unions have gotten. As the unions go so goes the middle class.

I believe they would get paid but not the overtime rate paid to those who went. Shell, the unions, and likely most of the workers were very glad to have the President there.

We had a project at work once that the Democrat Governor wanted to photo op. We invited him and gussied everything up for him. Wasn't really a popular guy with employees or owners but ALL were glad he came to OUR plant instead of someone elses.

Am I over simplifying in thinking the plant halted operations during the presidential visit? Employees Either attend his speech or go home without pay. I would expect this for any president.
