Huge
Fast
great group of talent
two players, three "managers", and a couple fans sat for National Anthem
Some young guys that will be top notch recruits (if they arent already)
Fan base on coach from first play (many made their way down and stood by bench)
You will see more Titans playing on Saturday in future, but the better TEAM won.

You just described St Louis Jr Football to a T. So this makes sense that it would happen when a group of kids go to play at a high school.

I have to say that Trinity had some very talented football players.
I would love to see what those kids could do in a game if they were more disciplined on the field and had some sort of identity.
They just looked like a hot mess and very disorganized at times.
Talent is the ability to perform a specific task. Trinity may have had huge and fast guys, but they were very lacking in football talent or they wouldn’t have got shut out. The kids with talent and the will to win we’re wearing black

Or ... "The term talent refers to an inborn and the special ability of a person to do something. A skill is an expertise, which is acquired by the person by learning."

Well I guess Trinity had talent to run fast and be huge.

They had little to no football talent or they would have won the football game

They word you’re looking for is skill. They had little to no football “skill”. Talent is natural. If Trinity was well coached and disciplined it probably would not have went the way it did because they had more talent.

This is a silly debate. Who cares how much talent someone has if they have marginal skill as it relates to high school football? They might get to Division I school and become a very good college player but that does not make someone a great high school player.

Average/above average talent and exceptional skill will win out over exceptional talent with average/below average skill.

"We just played around at practice all week" the week before was mentioned by the lineman after the quarter final win. That playing around got them beat. Same kid that de committed from Mizzou. Did Mizzou lose a lot is what I would ask.

Trinity HAD the most Football Talent in Class 3 and it wasnt close.

They were without Senior WR Mookie Cooper - Ohio State Top 50 player in the Country
(could stop here and already have more football talent than Cassville)
Their Senior RB Reggie Love - Illinois Commit
And other WR/RB James Frenchie - Illinois Commit

They were winning games this year with their defense alone. they struggled to score all season vs quality teams. Didnt help at all that they fired the HC/OC mid season (They werent running the greatest scheme to begin with)
Their entire offense is 14/15 year olds led by a Freshman QB. But make no mistake a full strength Trinity would smoke Cassville by 5 scores. You sound silly.

Really trying to figure out if this is a legit post or not... The most talented football guys did not win that football game. The best TEAM did. That is a tribute to those players that wear the black and gold AND the coaches that lead them.

This reminds me of some of those recruiting national championships the Texas Longhorns used to celebrate.

Cooper transferred before the year started, they weren't without him. Frenchie played, even at QB some - didn't help. Best team won, without a doubt.

Were they full strength when a bunch of farm kids without college offers from Lamar beat them in 16?

Yes, they were just Children. Every critical piece to the eventual 2018 State Championship team were either Freshmen or Sophomores that year. A bunch of guys playing power 5 ball now.

Look if you want to say Lamar was the better team that year or Cassville was the better team then you'd be right. But to say more talent you would Wrong. Not a hard concept to grasp. The Rams had more talent than the Patriots last year and still lost the Superbowl. the Chiefs had more talent than the Patriots and still lost the AFC championship game.

And Lathrop played Lutheran a closer game than Trinity.

Yes because as I just mentioned (maybe you werent reading) Trinity was missing all of their top tier Senior talent. They rolled out a Freshman QB this entire season. They arent going to score on any team of quality. They are maybe a year or 2 away. Or a good coaching staff away.

This is a silly debate. Yes Trinity was bigger and faster than Cassville. I don’t think anyone would even try to debate that. The problem is that Trinity allowed it’s huge natural talent advantage to be negated by the way they went about their business or lack there of. There are a lot of teams that I have seen play this year that would have beat Trinity last Saturday. That is taking nothing away from Cassville at all. Cassville is 1 of 4 teams that could have made it out of the big 8 this year. Trinity would have been more talented than all 4 of them together and I don’t think they could have beat any of them honestly.

My how the tables have turned. Last year all of the St. Louis posters were enjoying the tears flowing from SWMO. Now I believe SWMO and KC posters are enjoying the tears flowing from St. Louis. Keep those tears coming!

TEARS? We will have 2 State Champions and KC will have None. SWMO will have 2 as well Webb and Cassville.

Am I missing something?????

You are describing Grandview...you know the school that has won four of the past six Class 4 championships in track. A school that has produced a host of DI track athletes, including a multi-year Big 10 Champ in the 110 High hurdles. Obviously, bad ass athletes. Same story in football. If they had a Roderique or a Jones coaching them...holy god.

Full strength. Yes
Young. Yes

Lamar played them in 2016 when most of the Trinity team was freshmen and sophomores.

I beg to differ with you, yes Trinity had several sophomores, But they also had several older kids playing as well. Around 14 seniors. Lamar had several younger kids starting as well. Lamar's Junior Defensive end put a highlight reel legal hit on Trinitys quarterback, and to his credit the Trinity QB stayed in the game and continued playing well.

One senior Trinity had was playing defensive line ( had several offers)- Lamar ran trap at him with their undersized guard ( with no offers), putting him on his back. the game was stopped for him to make his way off the field.

I will agree with you Trinity had talent, but so did Lamar and isn't football a team sport?

I think that is the difference between talent working together and towards a goal, versus talent just playing around.

I’ll be impressed when a public school in St. Louis can win a state title.

Private schools have ACC Programs like Florida State coming to Lutheran North and offer 8 kids in one day. Including 2 freshman last year.

Long as that kind of exposure keeps happening the Smart Kids are gonna keep going to the Private Schools. Kids are sitting out the 365 days just to go to the Private schools. easiest way to a full ride.

I was also very impressed when Ladue won last year and this year when undefeated public school FZN went wire to wire Ranked #1 in Class 5 until being upset this past week.

Those 2 schools have many D1 kids as well. Plenty of talent to go around here.

A week ago it was going to be a sweep. Lock, even... perhaps those are the tears they are talking about.

Sure isn't the kids and their family's fault, you'd certainly be foolish not to send your kid their if he had what it took. Now kids will be going out to Caly to get a check. And whatever other states follow suit. I don't like where I see this going.

I don’t blame them a bit for attending private school, especially if they live in a crappy public school district.

A lot of kids arent even that good but are getting the benefit of the doubt. One day the train will stop when the Coaches move on (Im assuming the players coming to Trinity will now slow down) but it hasnt happened yet.

Yep these kids all used to be going to McCluer North, Hazelwood Central (shame that they are no good anymore), Hazelwood East, Kirkwood, Parkway North, Webster Groves etc

Now outside of Kirkwood who has an amazing feeder system those programs are all way down from their standards
