You guys have posted on MoSports that Blytheville, Ark is a quality team and one of Sikeston's biggest wins for the season. Something is going on in Blytheville, Arkansas but it's not winning basketball games.

I totally agree, metro. Sikeston is overrated. They will be lucky to win another game. If I were any coach in the rest of Class 4, I wouldn't worry about them. Just call metro for your scouting report. He has the team all figured out.

Sikeston is undefeated with 8 " Clock Jobs ". The schedule may be a little suspect but the Bulldogs have answered the call in all 13 games to date. I expect the winning to continue but the competition will hit after sectionals but the Bulldogs may ride the confidence train straight toward the final four. The only thing that can defeat Confidence is talent and tradition, judging from the last 6 years, the Bulldogs can hold their own with talent and tradition.

Actually, metro....Blytheville is 7-8...but I digress. Regarding their talent level, I'll go by what I SAW and not what I've HEARD. I saw them play. They are a talented group. My source tells me they are having some internal problems which leads to problems on the floor.

Regarding the Dogs, you've got to take a position and stick with it. You are flip flopping more than any politician I have ever seen. Either we are a contender (which I feel we are) or we are overrated. Pick a side and stay on it. And by contender....I'm not saying we are a lock for a title either. There is a lot of basketball to be played. I like the Dogs trajectory. Hopefully we can peak during the playoffs.

Rocket, I like Sikeston's chances to advance out of class 4 district 1 and win their sectional game most likely friendly Farmington. Sikeston is in a " Walk Thru district and sectional " . After the sectional game,The " Walk Thru " games are now over for Sikeston and a higher level competition begins. I have Parkway West or Westminister staring down the Sikeston Bulldogs in a quarter final game. Sikestom may be still undefeated @ this point. Westminister will not lose another game in the regular season this year. Long and skilled Parkway West should win all of their remaining games except @ Webster on 2-1-16.

Class 4 district ( Possible winners )

1. Sikeston-13-0
2. Farmington--6-4
3. Lutheran South 9-2--Not sure on this one
4. @ Westminister_ Parkway West 11-2 or Westminister 11-2 )
I'm still on Sikeston for a final four birth but the schedule has me a little concerned for a really big game.

5.@ Vashon 10-4 with the competition St. Mary's and Miller Career
6. Jennings 12-2 or Riverview--Riverview has 3 new skilled players eligible @ the semester.
7. St. Charles West ( The competition is about the same )
8. This is a mid-mo deal--I'm not sure )
I'm on Vashon for a final four birth and the schedule backs it up.

After looking @ the above Sikeston, Vashon, Jennings, Parkway West and Westminister should be smiling.

Metro...the "experts" may be penciling in the quarterfinal contestants, but I can assure you that the Dogs coaching staff is not. They are not overlooking ANYONE. Period. No matter the opponent and/or their record.

Rocket, I can see why the Sikeston staff would have concerns. I don't believe the Dogs have experienced a free throw or a defensive stop with the game on the line to date but I like the position the Dogs are in. The good news is the Dogs may never need a defensive stop or a made free throw in the last 5 seconds of meaningful game.
This could be another 2011 when the Bulldogs were class 4 state champions and 30-0 the end their season.

Metro...that's not exactly what I meant, but whatever. As one of my good friends and says...."Let's let Jesse Rob this train." Which means...again...I'll defer to the Dogs brain trust and let them guide the squad and not the "experts." I'm pretty confident that the coaching staff knows the pulse of team.

Only time will tell, what's in store for the Sikeston Bulldogs but I like their position so far. Parkway West and Westminster likes their position as well. Someone will be disappointed when the story is completed.

The Blytheville Courier has a good article on the Blytheville Chicks.

Blytheville WAS a quality team. I'm not sure what has happened since November, but they've had some turmoil and lost some players. But that was one heck of a season-opener for both squads. Sikeston was down 9 in the third quarter of that game so it was a tremendous test.

And Sikeston did have to shoot free throws and make a defensive stop with the game on the line. It happened Tuesday against Carbondale.

So the only 2 games Parkway West have lost are the only 2 teams they have played with a winning record ?

My friend Train, you are working me pretty hard but I want you to have the truth, not fiction.

Parkway West 11-2 has defeated the teams below with a 500 record to date:

Kirkwood---------- 10-4-( 65-53 )
Parkway Central---9-4-( 50-43 )
Parkway South----7-6--( 57-44 )
St. Charles West-8-5---( 51-44 )
Priory---------------7-7----( ? )

Parkway West loses
Hazelwood Central 14-1--( 71-57 )-There is only one or two teams in Missouri who can defeat Hazelwood Central and that is Chaminade and maybe Lees Summit.
Vianney---------------10--6--( 61-44 )

Westminister 11-2 has defeated the teams below with a 500 record:

Howell Central--- 8-5-----( 73-60 )
Borgia--------------8-3----( 59-48 )
Francis Howell--11-4----(60-53 )
Duchesne-------- 9-8-----68-47 )
St. Mary's---------10-6---( 64-50 )
Whitfield-----------12-3---( 54-53 )
Ladue-------------- 9-6----( 54-47 )

Loses to:
Hazelwood East-----lost 73-58
Zumwalt South-------lost 66-57

Westminster has not lost since Dec. 4--2015.

What's so great about that those teams Wesminster a little better but for the most part PW has played a bunch of .500 teams

Hazelwood Central and Vianney are not average but defeated Parkway West. I think Kirkwood 10-4 is about to make a run and they are not average. Both Westminister and Parkway West are worthy opponents for anyone.

What are Parkway West's best wins to date?

Also, do you know anything about St. Joe Lafayette? They definitely look good on paper. I haven't seen them play in a few years.

The Carbondale game proved Sikestons mettle. Carbondale has bigs and EVERY player is athletic. We got outrebounded but more than made up for that with many treys. The team didnt panic at all at the end of a very close game so i'm not worried at all about all these clock jobs affecting performance in future tight games. Of course the competitions gonna get stouter at each step in the playoffs, that is to be expected and the Dawgz will be just fine. Absolutely no guarantees on how far we'll go, we Dawg fans are aware of that.
