On Thursday at 7:31 PM you wrote that you hadn't see one team in C4 that wasn't (very beatable) and that K and HVille were very fortunate to be the two left standing because any game is (now was) wide open between about a half dozen of the top (C4) teams.
Myself and blue and white pride concurred with your assertions but the really crazy thing to me is that Webb, in the midst of a very mediocre season (by their standards), had a legitimate shot at beating the eventual state champs which of course means they could very well have been playing for the ship. Their fans will have to correct me if I am wrong but I think that for the last 7 years Webb has either been the state champ or were eliminated by the champ in the playoffs.
A really crazy crazy year as you have repeatedly pointed out!!!!!

Actually for the last 17 years with the exception of 07 Webb has won the championship or been knocked out by the eventual champion!
Which means we have been blessed with a lot of good hard working kids!
Sometimes I think God may be a Cardinal fan. Lots of programs have good coaches and hard working kids, it just baffles me sometimes

If a very mediocre season means your at least district champs, I'll take that as a compliment to the program. Class 4 was wide open. If Webb didn't beat CJ, then I believe they would have won state.

It is true that your statement was false. ;)

Or were you saying that it is true that you hold that ignorant belief?

Well I saw Webb, CJ, Harrisonville and Kearny. I think you match up any two no telling who wins
That statement hurts your argument.

To win state CJ would have needed to beat Webb, then Harrisonville, and then Kearney. They might be able to beat each of them 50% of the time but I doubt they win all three in the same postseason.

It has actually been the most fun year in some time..................love my KDogs and the intersectional rivalry with Webb has become one of the greatest ever BUT I like seeing new faces in the limelight and Harrisonville was overdue for this C4 title. What could get real interesting would be if K and HVille would schedule each other besides just in a Jamboree. Have said it many times a rivalry requires both sides to win and the Cats are now the only team not named Lee's Summit West to own a winning record vs. Jones since he hit KTown in 2006.

Webb has played through inexperience and won it all as recently as 2013. Going to the Dome that year I fully expected a very experienced, overdue Helias Catholic to win that game............

Option 3: it is true that is was his opinion. For much of the season Kearney and CJ were probably the best 2 class 4 teams in the state. Plate County could have made a case as well. Had CJ beat WC I think they would have matched up very well with Harrisonvile though maybe not as well with Kearney.

If there was a year for CJ to win Class 4 it was this year.

Harrisonville obvious did the best of the contenders of getting their act together and making the least mistakes. B

CJ was considered one of the top few teams solely because people inflated Webb City and were impressed that CJ beat them in week 1 (without taking into account the 7000 turnovers and early season inexperience).

Rematch: Webb City 27, Carl Junction 6

Carl Junction is likely not in the Class 4 Top 5 and didn't even get out of districts, let's quit talking about them.

1) Harrisonville
2) Kearney
3) Webb City
4) Platte County
5) Ladue
6) Parkway North
7) Carl Junction

As I watched all of the teams and was in person for both the WC -CJ games I'll think I'll offer my opinion thanks.

I don't necessarily disagree that they won't be in the top 5 but Platte County didn't make it out of districts either and I think most would agree they had a pretty good team this year.

WC and CJ were co-favorites in the COC in preseason so even before the season started they were getti some respect. Carthage actually won the league but CJ was solid. In week 1 CJ was better than WC. Once WC started mixing in some younger players and they got some experience WC improved.

That is a great observation. WC-Helias played in week 6-7 on 2013 would have probably gone very bad for WC. Definitely was the case of a younger team peak in late. WC in 1992 would be another similar example.

Nobody is arguing that CJ isn't good.

The argument is about the insulting comment that Carl Junction would win state if they had gotten out of districts ... and I don't see anyone saying the same thing about Platte County.

I think they could have possibly but the problem with PC is that their offense was built around the passing game and that big WR which is not the best formula when the weather is cold and you are dealing with wind. PC in the dome= a handful.

Platte County had a fine RB in McNair just didn't need the running game given most of the season was above to much above average temperatures. If if if only they had a defense..............

Didn't hurt 1992 Webb having that what-was-his-name-uh-Wistrom guy. :)
