Fear not.
I too was once a child. I too was told we were doomed. As a grade schooler I was told of impending acid rain! We simply were polluting so much the sky would create acid rain and that was a scary possibility but, i've never seen acid rain in the FIFTY years since. Then, as an early teen, I was told of an impending ice age that would bring the polar ice caps down to Ohio and Missouri and force us to move to the gulf coast to survive. I don't remember anything close to an ice age in the last 45 years either. Once more, as a late teen I was promised we would get so hot that the desert southwest would spread to take over most of the U S because of global warming!!!! As far as I know, the desert is still in the same place. The mantra of fear is now CLIMATE CHANGE! Al Gore promised me that by the year 2000 it would be too late to reverse and the seas would overtake most of the coastal cities forcing people to move inland.
Having lived through fifty years of doomsday PROMISES from the EXPERTS, I wouldn't loose any sleep over their latest 10 year predictions. Trust me, you too will be just fine. While i'm not a scientific expert, I am an expert on liberal threats.
