Just to get some discussion going i will give my evaluation and pre-season predictions for the top of Class 2. If you dont like them give your own and make sure to give your evaluation.
Platte County Burns, St.Louis,Wittmeyer,Fowler,Pace,Guthier. All are previous state medalists that know how to win. (BURNS 2005) 5 Serious contenders for individual gold. Look for impact freshmen/JV stepping in to be the key. This will be a tougher team than last season. The approx 1/2 JV team they brought to Branson last year did VERY WELL.
Odessa Clemons, Heller, Hooper, Windsor, Jones, Shippey, Allen will all be very tough to beat, but I look for 3 or 4 real contenders. These guys will make the team race a nail-biter. ALSO MY PICK FOR MRVC title.
St.Clair,,, One of last seasons most under-rated teams, has 4 real contenders. Beltz,Heembrock,Wagner, Herman, Johnson. I look forward to possibly seeing another battle between Herman/Fowler PC (semi's last season) there was some pathetic officiating in that match.
Kirksville, 6 returning SQ's, 3 real contenders. The question is what will a new coach bring to this very successful, established program. Schmitz,Schmitz,Boyd,Bowen,Alter and Alter (SOUNDS LIKE A LAW FIRM). This is a dangerous team.
Oak Grove, 6 returning SQ's with 1 or 2 contenders. I think they are still a year away from the top spot. They will make huge strides this year, but they would be higher if they were in another district, getting better first round seeds. (Which appears to be losing St.Pius and replacing with Richmond)Anybody coming out of that district this year will be tough as nails. Fowler, Morgasson, Russell,Meisenheimer,Glasgow,McMullen,Williams it could be the big mans year to take it all. I look for a total of 5 medals.
Monett 5 returning Sq's with 4 monster little guys. I have questions on this team, can the little guys stay little? They have a habit of growing over the off season. They could easily be higher.
