CJ Roberts, a point guard from Richland, Texas has verbally committed to the Tigers for 2017.
I guess you can never have to many guards.

After watching their practice Thursday, I just don't see it. Woods looks to be in MUCH better physical condition. Dude has to 15 lbs bigger than he was last year. He and Walton looked to have spent a ton of time in the weight room. That said, still don't think they'll shoot it well enough to give their post players room enough to operate. Nikko and Smith don't' appear ready to help much on offense just yet. I think both will eventually be nice players though. Still a VERY young team. I hope to see enough growth and improvement on the court that HCKA gets the fourth year. If the improvement on the court happens, and there aren't roster defections at the end of the season, I think he gets the fourth year. Then the roster will be experienced enough to start winning consistently and get the Tigers back in the tournament.Would be nice to see some post play this season.
I don't see how they can be better than 7-5 or 8-4 going into conference play. Truthfully, I have no clue of the rest of the league outside of UK. Tennessee will be very young and not good. MSU and Auburn probably won't be great. The other 9 outside of UK should be better than everyone else (maybe with the exception of LSU). So it really doesn't seem a ton different than last year. If they win 7-8 outside of SEC play, then I can't find more than 12-13 total. Which isn't good, but the big difference for me would be A)Are they competitive? WAY too many blowouts last year. B)Are they retaining players after the season? These are all HCKA's players now, he needs to keep them. Because of the youth, if these happen I think he should get a 4th year. That happens, they'll win enough he won't have to worry about his job.How many games do you think they have a chance on winning this season?
I watched them practice at the MBCA clinic. I'd say that's about accurate. Ceiling is probably 15-16. Basement is probably 10. Only way 15-16 happen is if they're more competitive in SEC play. Stay in games long enough to make it close second half of the 2nd half.I was told from someone who has seen multiple practices and whose opinion I respect that this is. 12 win team.
