off to another great start. They didn't lose a game last season until the Final 4 where they lost to the eventual champions from NW West Fla. They won their first 15 games this season before the Christmas break then came back and beat Wallace St. Alabama to go to 16-0 on the season. They have most of their roster back from last season and have a couple of kids that would be familiar to the MoSports crowd. Karlee Holland from Licking was on the team last season but had shoulder that kept her out of the lineup until that last game before the Region 16 Tournament. She played in every game in the post season and played quite well. She has started every game this season and is playing well again. They also have Kourtney Kendrick from Booneville who comes off the bench and gives them good minutes. They play at a break neck pace so just about everyone that is healthy plays. Chaylea Mosby from Dexter came back but has a issue that had kept out of any practice or games. They were hoping she would make it back this semester but I was told at the last game when she started doing activities again her back is not better so probably won't play. She was the Region 16 POY last season and a 1st team NJCAA All American so that's a big loss but they also added some very good freshmen players so hopefully they can keep rolling during Region 16 play.
I forgot to mention they were ranked 8th in the preseason poll and have moved up to 3rd. The 2 Florida teams ahead of 3R are in the same region and will have to play each other a couple of times so 3R could move up if they stay undefeated but it won't be easy to do that again in Region 16 and have no slip ups in non region games too. Just hope that covid issues don't crop up too bad across the region so they can finish season in normal fashion. And hope the injury bug stays away too.

Wiggs really has that program headed in the right direction. I think Moberly is capable of jumping up and biting them, hopefully it won't happen in region play. Any idea if Mosby might return next season? Is Pryor redshirting?

Coach Walk got it headed in the right direction and Coach Wiggs has kept the momentum going. He can coach and recruit quite well. Moberly plays pretty good defense and that makes them scary on any night. 3R can't have an off night in any phase of a the game with them or Moberly could knock em off. Mineral Area could do the same. Haven't talk to Chaylea since I heard she won't be back this season so I don't know. I don't know what's up with Pryor either. She had the boot off before the break then back on when they played Wallace St. I might see somebody to ask at the P.B. girls game this evening.

Just saw 3R has moved up to the #2 spot with NW Fla. still on top so Chipola got beat by somebody and looks they dropped out of the top 5.

Yeah, I didn't mean to discredit Walk......Wiggs may have raised things up a notch though. It doesn't hurt to have the new facility to enhance recruiting.

Didn't figure you did, Just hope they can keep it goin this way. I saw Chipola dropped all the way to #6 with that one loss. On the NJCCA site they had a list of games to be played this week in different places and 6 of 8 and been canceled. Could hard to get games in again.

3Rivers should be #1 in the poll this week. NW Fla. lost Saturday leaving 3R the only undefeated team left in the top 25 and I assume in the country in NJCAA women's basketball.

Question about the Lady Raiders. I noticed on the roster it says Covid-Freshman and Covid-Sophomore for some players. What does that mean?

I could be wrong, but if it is similar to the rest of the NCAA situation’s with Covid, they may be getting an extra year which means that they are actually freshman and sophomore’s. But they are sophs and juniors and can be classified as Covid freshman and etc. because of the pandemic. Again, I could be wrong

That's about it. They didn't get much of a season because of covid so the powers that be granted everyone another year of eligibility if they wanted it. We've had several games canceled or rescheduled this season because of it. Some Illinois teams on the schedule wouldn't/couldn't play us here or there and we had some players in quarantine for our game at Moberly the 19th so it's rescheduled for this Monday night. Big test in Region 16 play and for the winning streak. 3R women won 77-54 at Mineral Area last night even with a very off night shooting the ball to go to 20-0 on the season.

That's kind of what I figured. I wonder how many Juco kids are doing that? I don't think MAC has any but I could be wrong. I can see how that could help quite a bit at the Juco level.

I thought the Lady Raiders might be ripe for an upset tonight, but they pulled away from a very talented Moberly squad at the end to remain undefeated.

3R has been without the Region 16 POY and 1st team All American Chaylea Mosby this season. Missed the whole season with a back issue that will require surgery. This group was good enough as freshmen and sophomores to get their only loss in the Final 4. They just won at Moberly to go 21-0 this season. They finish the regular season with road games at Crowder, State Fair and Jefferson and have Moberly and Mineral Area at home. The Region 16 tournament winner has to travel to the Iowa Region winner this year.

I thought Mosby was their heart and soul, much like Dom was for the men last year. They seem to be gritty enough in her absence.....

She's a really good player. Do you guys think she'll come back for a fourth year at TRCC? If she does she'd probably end up with well over 100 hours of Juco credits. That may be unprecedented.

Last I heard is she plans to be finished, she wants be able to walk and a have normal life without back issues if possible. Time will tell.

Per an interview in the paper she says she is officially done playing.

Lady Raiders rolled State Fair tonight 83-43 to go to 24-0 on the season. SF's leading scorer and rebounder is out for the rest of the season. MAC men and women come to 3R Wednesday night, I hope LOTSA folks come out for those games.
