I really, really hate the august games. Even early September can be pretty hot. I know a lot of people don't mind the heat, but I would much prefer to to start first week in September and continue into November. Football is a fall sport, yet in Missouri high schools, half the regular season is played in summer. Most people seem to like the early start but I never have. It's the sport with the most gear and it's played in the hottest weather of any high school sport. Anymore, unless you are deep in post season you probably aren't going to play in much cool weather at all.

Missouri starts school 2 sometimes 3 weeks earlier than does Texas.
