Great crowd and atmosphere tonight. Probably the largest crowd I've seen at Adkins in at least 10 years. Final score was much closer than most thought it would be, but I attribute most of that to 5 Helias turnovers. Helias defense is as good as advertised. The score was only 14-0 early in the 4th quarter, but you pretty well knew it was over due to the really poor play of the JC offense. Only 15 yards total offense in the first half. Even with the 5 turnovers they got they still could not score. To me, that was the story of the game. Hopefully in the next few years this game will be more competitive on both sides of the ball. Unfortunately, I'm not too optimistic about that as Helias has really good sub-varsity teams and JC, well, let's say their sub-varsity teams are a work in progress.

Not the performance I expected from the #1 team in Class 4. Defense was good. Their strength is the o line and d line. They’re going to need more than that in the post season.

Neither team looked like they played well. Future will be interesting and you can bet this game will be a heat producer on the coaches of both JC schools.

Crowd wasn’t near the numbers of playoff games in the past ten years for either JC or Helias Helias. Helias made a lot of mistakes tonight and JC couldn’t move the ball consistently on offense. JC is improving and Coach Bailey is doing a good job. Helias might have been to pumped up for this game. Their defense made a big difference tonight.

I think the Jeff City defense forced those turnovers . They played a decent game and Phil Pitts is an outstanding defensive coordinator

If Hellas wins class 4 this year will that move them up to class 5 next year?

Don't think so. Need 6 points to bump up, and a state title is worth only 4. Would need a quarterfinal appearance next year at least. They have a district championship worth 1 point dropping off after this year. That's all they have on the books.
