The Birds threw in a couple of clunkers on the infield and just over it to get on but the long ball has become just like the point shot in basketball. This NCCA Tourney is a 3 point contest and movin the line back wouldn't stop it. Most of these guys are no where near the current line anyway.

Hoops metrics say 3's and layups are the way to go. No need for the mid range game. Hard to argue with the hoops metrics. Look at Northwest MO State. Their offensive efficiency rating is insane. And their season shot chart has about 95% of their shots either behind the arc or in the lane. That said, I like watching that style of hoops way better than the HR/K/BB approach in baseball.
