obviously the experts dont know any more than I do if they expected 350,000 and it more than doubled that. Nothing more than a guess

Anyway problem isnt job growth , its runaway inflation. If Biden doesnt do something soon its going to be like Venezuela in our country

The projection was 400,000 but I don't recall any of you folks saying how bad the predictions were when the real numbers came up short of the prediction.

Yeah all is well with the economy are you really buying into that propaganda? You've seen the Poll numbers and the dislike of Biden's economic Plan's from the Average Joe's on the street.....Jobs are great when your Dollar can buy a lot of goods and services. But when Biden Inflation has upped the Price of everything then those paychecks go to pay for a meagerly existence without any disposable income for the fun things in life left over. People tend to get upset about that stuff....Biden will have to take the blame because his policies are crap.

If you know anything about economics you know inflation is a lagging indicator of things that have occurred over a longer period of time than Biden has been in office. Using the term “Biden inflation” is simply childish.

All started with democratic controlled cities and states raising minimum wages to $15 an hour . Companies are going to raise prices to keep their profit margins at an acceptable rate and it just snowballs

That’s your silly theory. Seattle raising their min wage has nothing to do with the absurd meat prices at Walmart in rural Missouri.

So you think those 800,00 people were better off when they didn't have a job?

But Tyson Foods raising wages by an average of $6 an hour for its frontline workers nationwide does.

If the meat prices are absurd then dont buy it, If you do decide to pay $5 a pound for hamburger it just means that it is worth that price to you, or you wouldnt be buying it. Supply and demand, if you stop buying it price will drop like a rock. Feed lots and processors cant afford to be feeding live cattle that arent moving into peoples refrigerators

Source?? Private sector employers probably wouldn’t agree with those “numbers”
Every news outlet in the country gives out these numbers every month. I didn't see anybody question them on here when they came in under the projections.

LOL you using the accusing someone of being childish is a hoot. But you do you so well.

That is what you got from my post? The point is that even with a job they are treading water with everyone else.

the official December report by the Dept of Labor came out today. THe economy only added 199,000 jobs in December falling well short of the estimate of 400,000

Unemployment fell to 3.9%

I dont have a clue where those people came up with their 800,000 new jobs figure at, Gullible people will believe anything

Could it have been part time help ramping up for the holidays?

I saw that this morning. I don't know where the other I saw came from but I didn't dream it. It was very specific, it said the projection was 400k and the actual was 806k. That said unemployment is at 3.9 so is that the full employment you guys claim it is or is it a terrible number?
I also saw last night that crude oil prices went up $1.70 and barrel, today gas prices here went up 25 cents a gallon. Why the heck does that happen?

Civil war is about to break out in Kazakistan (sp?) and oil fields in some other region are shutting down or something so traders guess crude will be in short supply and drive up the prices. The term for the gas prices going up is " A Conspiracy In Restraint of Free Trade" and people need prosecuted for it

I don't care what "might" happen, if oil goes up $1.70 a barrel gas should not go up .25 a gallon!

If the price is too high then don't buy it
That just might be the most juvenile reply I've seen on here in a long time. BTW I didn't' say anything about it being too high, it's been higher and I'm sure it will begin. I don't know how many gallons of gas is made per barrel of oil but I'm pretty sure the price per gallon gas of shouldn't go up nearly 7 times as much as a barrel of oil.

The economy in our area is booming. Never see a place of business empty during operating hours!

Get vaxxed and the virus becomes a non-issue.
Same here, stores are packed and so are all the eating joints, be it drive in or go in in sit down.

A lot of restaurants around Springfeild are still only using about half their seating.
Not like that in kc. Everyone busy and spending money.

Its almost like a party wants folks to feel like things are rough

Best I can tell no limits on seating around here. I haven't been in every place, I don't eat at most of them when nothing is going on, but the parking lots are filled up pretty good everywhere.

That makes sense. Everyone is having to pay more to keep help now.

And we wonder why there is inflation?
A Mickey D's quarter pounder meal is almost 10 bucks. I have no doubt the original MacDonalds in P.B. is doing ok. They closed the doors and tore the building and everything around it apart last fall and built a brand new place that just reopened a couple of weeks ago. We also have one on the south end of town and inside Walmart.

Gas is usually not a profit maker for most gas stations....they make money on Soda/Candy/Tobacco and over priced products. So when they can get a bit of profit off gas they tend to do so.

So they're ripping us off everything they raise prices just like everybody thinks. BTW the gas stations do not set their own prices.

What you don't think Convenience stores who buy and sell their own gas don't set their price? You are wrong on that a quick google search proves you are 100% wrong....I already knew that worked as a evening manager for a summer and fall while in college at a Hockers Gas station, but I wanted to give a receipt to prove your error.

https://money.howstuffworks.com/why-gasoline-prices-vary-from-station-to-station.htm

And it's not ripping you or me off it's making a profit while providing a service....You don't have to purchase gas or even own a car. If you want look at the Mark up on the Soda/Candy/Ant-Acids and other things inside the store it is way more than the gas and that is where they make their profit not the gas.

Don't get me wrong the high price of Gas is Pizzing me off, but the Convenience stores are really in the selling of the products inside the gas is just the Flame to draw you in.
