This is exactly what we are talking about

She obviously needs more training. You should be able to hit more than one tire with 9 shots. Not easy to do with a moving target though.

No. She needs to write down the plate number, not shoot at an unarmed shoplifter. A bullet could have ricocheted and hit a bystander.
Because she had a gun readily available she felt emboldened to use it. That is the problem all over the country. Disagreements and petty squabbles turn into death. Too many guns, sir.

You're mistaken. Not too many guns. Too many crooks.

I wonder how many of you lamebrains actually believe what you say about guns or are just staying with your party line.

Well this lady may have never committed a crime in her life and now easy access has turned her into a criminal.

While I was away at college one of my neighbors, still a high schooler, did a "yard job" with his souped up car. The property owner decided to try and shoot his tire out just as he got to a dip in the road. I ended up coming home for a funeral. Too many guns.
Insanity. Keep creating more guns over and over and more people die.

This on the other hand, resulted when the property owner overreacted, is that his fault, or the tools fault ?

No, her poor decision turned her into a criminal. And that was a VERY poor decision.

Well, actually, according to the article, no charges have been filed, so she is not a criminal....yet.

True.... yet.

But she will be charged I'm sure and rightfully so. What she did goes against every bit of training she should have received to get her CCW and goes completely against responsible ownership/use. I am a pro-gun guy but what she did is wrong. She made the DECISION to do the wrong thing and there should be a penalty for that poor decision.

Yep toss her butt in jail for a while. But liberals will blame the gun and not her reckless disregard for life. If I was judge she would be in jail every weekend for a couple of years.

While I don't agree with what she did was correct I think the point being missed here is those were criminals. What if they had run over somebody or Gawd forbid a child while leaving the parking lot. The story sure twist the facts to make it look like they just casually left the store and never speed threw the parking lot endangering the lives of those shoppers and children entering or living the store? What about those innocent people on the roads? I am sure these criminals who had just did everything they could to get away from the loss prevention of Homedepot would probable not stop for some innocent 4 year old who might have wandered out in front of their car. I wonder if maybe they about ran her over or her children?

Do you know what makes them more likely to run over someone? Shooting at them.

She did something incredibly dumb, there's nothing to defend about it. She endangered the lives of others at least as much as the criminals did. The average shoplifter isn't peeling out. Home Depot isn't sending people on a high speed chase after them.

FWIW when I worked at a major retailer as a teenager we were intentionally discouraged from chasing shoplifters in the parking lot for reasons like this. We had them on camera so we submitted it all to the cops.
