This enough to get Odom fired?

There is something seriously wrong with this team. Talent is one thing, but playing this listless and pathetic against the worst teams in the league is inexcusable. It seriously looks like they don’t care. Did the whole team find out some deep dark secret or is there a cancer somewhere on the team? What the hell.

They just spent a fortune on facilities and they hired someone with zero big time experience as a head coach. Doesn’t make much sense.

I like Odom. I want him to be successful. But his team quit against Vandy and quit against Kentucky. He has not beaten Kentucky once. This was a year they were supposed to seriously contend for the East with this schedule. If Odom can’t win against this schedule, when will he?

agreed..the team has quit 2 games in a row. no passion no fire. problem is i believe his contract runs thru a few more years and i doubt the ad will want to pay 2 coaches at one time.

I truly hate to say I told you so, but I posted my doubts about Kelly Bryant’s decision making and passing accuracy when he transferred to MU. He hasn’t improved.

He frequently looks like the deer caught in headlights despite his wealth of experience.

They'll come out and somehow beat Florida and/or Georgia and the BO supporters will cling to the hope he is Gary Pinkel 2.0.

Reality is his ceiling is 9-4, 8-5, with some head scratching losses, and his floor is 4-8.

He was hired by the previous AD. Agree with the financial commitment that has been put out that this won’t cut it. He has several years on his contract still to go. Don’t see us writing a huge check for him to go away and then an even bigger one for the next coach.

That is the reality for all Mizzou football teams IMO. Unless we ever get a top top tier coach it’s going to be hard to ever be at that top SEC level. We are never going to have the resources to hire a Bob Stoops level coach. UGA is at the top, and that FL and TN were not going to stay down forever. Kentucky has hired a good coach, and has given him time and resources to compete. That leaves us and Vandy.

What top top tier coach would come to Mizzou?

not beating uga buddy, they will beat fla once the dawgs crush the gayturds dreams next week in j-ville

Mizzou is an middling SEC program. If they were willing to spend money they could get a big name or even a high level coordinator from a top school easily dont kid yourself.

Look at Mizzou’s finances compared to the rest of the SEC. Unless we have someone like Kronke want to fund the program, we will never touch these top tier coaches. Some of them are close to 10 million a year, with huge guarantees. IMO the only way for us to get and stay at the top is to get a top notch recruiter who will lock down the boarders. There has been enough talent lately to have us at top 15 level nationally. Ronnie Perkins at OU a great example. Put him on the D line and he makes a huge impact. Zeke E, etc, what an impact they could make.

I don’t think you would get a top tier coach to stay at Missouri a long time but you could likely get one to come for a few years.

I don’t think you want Les Miles anyway. Go get someone like the Iowa St or Baylor coach.

Because SEC teams with two recruiting hotbeds and only one div 1 university in the state is run of the mill

True but probably not relevant. Jury is still out if the move to the SEC has been a good idea or not but that point aside, University of Missouri while being centrally locates between Kansas City and St Louis does not make it more of a destination job than say Clemson who is not the only Division 1 team in South Carolina and does not have the population centers of KC and STL.

My point was Missouri doesn’t need a name coach....Charlie Weis, Bobby Petrino and Lane Kiffin are big names. Find a quality assistant coach or a successful coach at a lower level that is a decent recruiter.

Also Kelly Bryant was horribly overrated and Mizzou would immediately improve with better QB play.

Agree they don't need a name.
Mizzou fans for the most part are happy with the move to the SEC.
Its almost realignment time again

the money and exposure makes the move to the sec a great move. why stay in the big 12 and be under the thumb of texas. the monies in the sec are distributed equally, wasnt the case in the big 12. besides gtech and tulane no one has ever left the sec...the big lost 4 teams recently. a conference network in the sec yes....big 12 no. ask any team in the big 12 besides texas and ou if they would rather be in the sec or big 12....easy answer. no team currently in the sec will ever leave voluntarily. the benefits arent hard to figure out. kelly bryant is hobbled and cant run out of the pocket so a big part of his game is limited...hes no drew lock if he has to stand back there thats obvious. the move to the sec was the right move x 1000 and its not even close. ou and texas will always be fine for obvious reasons...everyone else not so much. the gor only happened after 4 teams left so keep that in mind. none of the 4 want back in the big 12...only a few fans who long for the big 8 years.
