1. Scoring on your opening drive, going for 2 and being up 8-0 before the other team has run an offensive play.

2. Michigan fight song and Rocky Top.

3. That weekend during the season when Notre Dame loses and you know there is no way they can put them in the playoff.

4. That one day you come out to practice in August and it is 20 degrees cooler than it was the day before. People are flying around.

5. Seeing your family on the field after a game and they are happy/relieved for you.

6. Doing a horrible Keith Jackson impression. Whoa Nellie we got ourselves a real barn burner.

7. Springing the same lines you have used for 20 years on a new set of kids

A. Make like frozen orange juice and concentrate.
B. Kick off cover guys need to break down early like a Ford pickup.
C. Coach J was more intense taking his dump this morning than we are today.
D. Defensive ends need to close down like a Park Hills car wash.

8. When that timid kid who has worked hard in the weight room decides to be a real player his senior year.

9. When the five best players on your team are the five hardest workers.

10. Having a great practice.

Seeing a team celebrating when they go up on Webb early,,,,,then watching them walk off the field end of game with it 44-14

That opening play was pretty cool. I don’t remember much about the rest of the game other than we set the show me bowl record for most penalty yards in all classes and I am generally not fond of refs.

Also set a Show Me Bowl record for giving up 257 rushing yards to QB Josh Chapman. I remember after first play coach saying “this could get ugly”

I had a long talk with your head coach a few years later. He said he never expected it to be that one sided. I had seen Chapman on film 8 games and he had never looked as incredible as he did that day on the turf. We learned some very painful lessons. We had a great football team. We had beaten some really talented teams to get there. We never saw that ass kicking coming.

John is a very humble man,, if he says “we could be decent” you better be clearing out room in the trophy case

I believe we are still the only team to “score by every means” in the championship game from that year. Touchdown, field goal, safety, extra point, 2 point conversion. Goofy record, I know.

#4 Nothing better than that first 50 degree practice. Also nothing as disappointing as the snow practice. It always seems like a good time, then 15 min later when your wet and your hands start hurting, your over it.

If I remember right they scored their second TD when the Webb boys were coming off of the field celebrating.

Dang near. In fact, if I remember correctly, it was just a little toss sweep. I was on the field for only my second play of defense of the year and they ran it my way. I still haven't figured out why I was offense only.
