After a kid is born you don't give a crap. You have said as much when you said being born in a bad house is better than not being born at all.

No he's spot on. Most "pro-lifers" are really only pro-birth, once they're born all the bleeding heart conservatives don't care what quality of life they actually have.

It don't make you a bad person to not adopt or take in foster kids. The great majority of Americans do not do anything for the these kids. However, as I have said, I believe abortion to be morally wrong, but I believe I would be a hypocrite to be an outspoken opponent of abortion if I am not willing to be part of the solution. If you are going to lead the charge, you better be ready to do more than offer lip service. I have been critical of Kenny on the same subject because he is so outspoken on abortion, and I wanted to point out the hypocritical aspect of his stance and not being part of the solution. I do know some very decent women who have had abortions, and I don't condemn them or judge them. It is between them and their God.
I believe one of our country's biggest failures is to take care of the young and elderly the way we should, and it's not like we don't have the money as a nation.
Another aspect of the abortion issue that is never talked about is what happens when the unwed woman wants to have an abortion and the father is willing to raise the child - which has happened to me. The father has no say so, even though both were consenting adults who had sex and fully knew the risk of pregancy.

The Hawks just amaze me when they act like we need to be the worlds police when we can't even police our own cities. I have always said that the only way we can have world domination like the Pubs want is to start up the draft. You can not continue to send the same troops into war zones time after time. Some of these guys and gals are redeployed 2 or 3 times. If you want to put boots on the ground you need to increase the # of soldiers you have to work with and the only way that can happen is through the draft and that is a vote killer! We have plenty of weapons and bombs we don't have enough volunteer soldiers and nobody wants to admit that.
The U.S. does an awful lot for the elderly. They have a lot lower poverty rate than children. And both parties are generally supportive of taking care of today's elderly.
It's also not remotely clear what boots on the ground would do. Are going to fight Assad AND ISIS? Are we fighting for a united Syria or to let it break into pieces? Etc.
The political goals are undefinable at this time.

A serious fiscal conservative should be shaking their head at a tax plan which contains no thought whatsoever about what the spending needs of the government are. Tax policy doesn't exist in a vacuum.
And I can find plenty of things I disagree with when it comes to rand Paul. But, I respect rand for being more principled than the rest of the field. I think he's more ideologically consistent across his positions. I think he argues from a consistent world view. I think he's a good voice for the R party overall even though I think he would be a bad nominee for them in terms of electability.
