Play 10 times...Kearney beats H at least 6-7 times. Maryville...8-9 times.

Harrisonville is as much a better team than Kearney as Kearney was over Webb last year.

Maryville? please...if the punter takes the safety in the 4Q, they win.

Couldn't agree more. Just look how maryville Dominated Monett in the 2nd half!
I believe the 2nd half drives when something like:
Monett Punt
Maryville Fumble
Monett Punt
Maryville INT
Monett TD
Maryville TD
Monett Punt
Maryville Punt over the head
Monett TD
Maryville INT
Monett TD
Maryville INT
Heck Maryville got out scored 20-6 in the 2nd half.

What point is being made here? That Monett forced Maryville into 4 second half turnovers, and beat them.

It's not a fluke they lost, they got out played. Happens to everybody.

The point was that the OP said Maryville loss was an upset and a fluke and JR proved why it was not.

Don't understand your post about what the point was. I guess you have trouble following along.

On another note you guys should see the comemorative State Champs edition of the Monett Times we put together. We killed it.

By losing to Harrisonville, I refuse to believe that Kearney would win more than half of their 10 hypothetical matchups.

Sorry, the Wildcats proved they were better and ARE the champs!
If you give Jones and staff an on-field look at your team they are almost always better the second time around. As stated before it is pointless because the result is the result.................bring on 2017 and let the drive for five resume in KTown!

Does Kearney win the 6-7 games by 17 points each time like you predicted before they played for real? Just curious.

WRONG!!! Kearny probably doesn't beat Webb or Harrisonville the majority of the time this year in a 10 game series. Kearney lived through the air. For the most part could not establish a drive without the big throw. Harrisonville won that game with a physical fashion. And since the beginning of football, if you can run the ball and play defense, you will win more times than not. Watch the replay, Harrisonville lived in K's backfield, gave up a big play when the corner got turned around, dropped a pick, and a big 3rd conversion through the air on the other scoring drive, or it could have very easily been a shut out. On the other hand, even when Kearney made it close, Harrisonville had no trouble getting first downs, or moving the Kearney front. Kearney had to play the run with both safeties, which caused their defense to be unsound against play action. Harrisonville was never uncomfortable in the game and was able to stick with their game plan.

Does another QB transfer in this year? Possibly a receiver also. Seemed that those two where 80% of K Towns offense. Also 40 leaving on defense, he is what made them tick.

OK so let's see (I think I know who you really are by the Kearny spelling, by the way) you seem to be accusing them of recruiting Pritzel............run that one by Jones and see how long you last. On another note you also seem to be intimating they basically should have not even showed up. The anti-Kearney hate on this site (Floray is rolling over in his grave, God eternally bless him) never ceases to amaze me!

Harrisonville vs Kearney all time 11 wins 7 losses. I think Parkway North beats Kearney as well. Just my two cents.

Good thing they don't play best of 10 series then. That's why no one cares about your calpreps posts.

So Harrisonville is the #4 team in Class 4 since they lost to Excelsior Springs, Platte County, and Grain Valley? And each of these teams proved they are better than Harrisonville?

By losing to Harrisonville, I refuse to believe that Kearney would win more than half of their 10 game series.
So who would win a best of ten with Harrisonville vs Platte County? Or Excelsior Springs? Or Grain Valley?

The answer is Harrisonville regardless of the fact that they lost to all of them earlier in the season. Harrisonville would likely win the final 9 games versus Excelsior Springs and Grain Valley. Platte County would probably win a few more.

Sometimes the better team does not win.

Platte County was the better team week 4. 11 weeks later Harrisonville improved to be the best team in the state. Good football teams play their best game of the season the week they are on. They don't stay stagnet the entire season.

So perhaps a better way to schedule the season is that you play until you lose? Half the teams are gone after week one?

No, I think it's all about the final winners. Those 6 (7 with 8-man) get to claim they are the best. Sorry, but the rest of us don't get to crown different champions based on a bunch of what-ifs.

Harrisonville has such a great tradition, with so much success over the years, so many championships. They were overdue to win another one. It was no surprise to me that they beat the bulldogs. There's absolutely no shame in losing a championship to a team with a pedigree like Harrisonville. Kearney is a young team. They are due to get back to the same situation in 2017.

I guess I thought JR was agreeing with the OP. I suppose I do have trouble following along.

I bet your "comemorative" State Champs edition was awesome, congratulations.

I'll give you that "if" and take the -5 points but you have to give me an "if".

If our receiver catches the ball that hit him in the hands while he was wide open on the first play of the 3rd quarter, Monett has another TD.

Both "if"s and the final score is Monett 29, Maryville 18. :)

I was there and thought it looked like Maryville panicked. I also noticed that Monett WON the game as opposed to Maryville Losing the game. I understand that everyone has their own perspective, but give those kids their due. They deserved it.
