I heard a lot of webb city folk say it would be a tough year but they say that almost every year so I didn't believe them. Guess they weren't bullshitting lol

Salt from my tears, LOL. We dont roll up in the fetal position over a loss or losses quite like you think we do. Regardless, if you feel that way because the posts from the Kearney beat down from what 2002 or the cTOWN loss in 07 it was the circumstances around them not the outcome. cTOWN in 07 it was the reaction of some of the cARTHAGE parents towards the WEBB players that caused the hoopla. We, (meaning most WEBBie posters) if you read the posts from week 1 know a little about the game and realize this isnt one of WEBBs best teams. Read my post from week 1, when I post saying this about our team or that I dont lie or as some on here like to say, "you guys always have excuses, you cant just give the other team credit". No, thats a lie. As I and a few others stated we arent very good, atleast for now. I still believe if they get the QB position figured out and a little more out of the oline come districts everything can flip flop. If not oh well, life will go on, I dont think one losing season will ruin JRODs or WEBBs legacy...
This is not like past years. There are key slots that simply need more time or just wont reach that level necessary to dominate. Its going to be a very rough ride, every week. Just like to see the boys put in 110% and not get too frustrated. If they do that, i think they can pull out some wins. From what I have seen so far, both CJ and Carthage are weaker this year, just not as much as Webb.
Coaching can only take you so far. Athleticism, drive and commitment by the players is just as important. I think we are seeing a drop of in all three of those categories since I have been told by several on this forum that it's not the coaching..
Also, the problem I see is how to get the kids to relax and have fun from here on out. Can you imagine the pressure they are under right now from Coaches alumni and community. ! And please don't insult my intelligence and say they aren't. People seem to forget this is just high school football.Life goes on but something tells me that's not the way it is in Webb.
Nope, just like squeaking past Nevada in 4OT to finish 5-5 in 1998 didn't bust the machine.
I can't imagine a worse position for a high school athlete than to be playing football at Webb City and struggling to win games. You know they are hearing the "worst team/qb/line/etc in decades" comparisons on a daily basis. Especially after the last 5 or so years that have truly been incredible.
