After watching reports on the recent uprising of Putin's mercenaries, and really since the start of the Ukraine invasion, I get the impression that the Russian people are very indifferent to the war. Granted, Putin has the power to do what he wants without any pressure from public opinion and Russians aren't going to publicly criticize the government, but whenever I see just a regular Russian citizen interviewed they don't seem to care much one way or the other about the Ukranian war. I've seen Russians interviewed that admit they know very little about any news from the war. I thought it was odd that the mercenaries marched through town after town with no resistance or support from the people, they just stayed in their homes. Too bad there are not opinion polls in Russia.

I also wonder if the Western press is painting the picture they want us to see. I distrust our American press more now than at any point in my life.

I feel like they are probably not in favor of the war, but no one is going to say anything.
I think in the mercenary march they were probably saying "Let's see what happens." before choosing a side. I mean I am not declaring a side when the red hats rise up in December 2024. I am going to wait and see what happens. 2025 I might be screaming "Heil Trump."
As for not trusting the media, I think that is a little of the Trump effect. Even people who don't like him, start to question the media. I am not sure they are really as bad as people think. I think they are just chasing stories as fast as they can.

Will they move the resolute desk behind bars ? 😩

Yeah, it's more of a case of the media reporting whatever the politicians are telling the press, and it's usually slanted, sensationalized, and opinionated. And our media has become more interested in ratings, which turns into money, than truthful news reporting. Such as the Trump effect - they know anything "Trump" is good for ratings and revenues.
