After watching reports on the recent uprising of Putin's mercenaries, and really since the start of the Ukraine invasion, I get the impression that the Russian people are very indifferent to the war. Granted, Putin has the power to do what he wants without any pressure from public opinion and Russians aren't going to publicly criticize the government, but whenever I see just a regular Russian citizen interviewed they don't seem to care much one way or the other about the Ukranian war. I've seen Russians interviewed that admit they know very little about any news from the war. I thought it was odd that the mercenaries marched through town after town with no resistance or support from the people, they just stayed in their homes. Too bad there are not opinion polls in Russia.
I also wonder if the Western press is painting the picture they want us to see. I distrust our American press more now than at any point in my life.
