We definitely need refs, but having fewer calling a game wouldn’t necessarily be a bad thing. 3 would be a good number. They’d still catch the important infractions - especially ones designed to prevent injury - but still let the players play. Going back to 2 refs in hoops would be ok for the same reasons.

As a former ump, I will agree with that. But we’ll probably have to go to 3 for football at some point. I can also remember when we just had 2 for hoops, so we may end up back there again.

i usually dont complain much about officiating because it's a tough job.
The guys that did Adrian vs Tipton were about the worst I've seen in 50 years.

Maybe it was the same crew.

I don't usually say things and I shouldn't have, just didn't agree with their interpretation of targeting on both sides. I guess you can't tackle a receiver making a catch now a days.
