Emotion aside...

Rooting interest aside...

Pick the right winner or your mother dies!...(jk, but you get the point :D)

WHO YOU GOT?!

Before today’s game, I would have said Lamar; not as sure now...

Did anyone watching the game today think Lamar was sharp? Does anyone think they won't be next week?

LN Wins... Team Tiger will be hurt by this pick but its my opinion. If Lamar wins theyll win state and Congrats to them.

And I want to apologize to any Lamar fans that this pick might upset.

Was at the Lamar game. I live near Ava. I think Lamar will have to play A LOT better than they did this week to win. But they play to Lamar’s strengths. So I’d give the experience factor and game to Lamar 28-24

LN will win by more than 2 scores. Lamar played uninspired football, going through the motions. Lots of penalties and mistakes that LN will capitalize on. Lamar’s dynasty will come to an end next weekend

Lamar 28.......LN 14

Has LN played anyone this year that has actually knocked the crap out of them on each play????

I would like to pick LN, but too many times I thought (insert team name here) was going to be the team to stop the streak......Lamar 42-LN 14

I've been to every Lamar game for the past several years, and this was the worst overall performance I've seen. Even though Lamar won today, I came away feeling like they lost. Not to take away from the performance of Ava, because they wanted it more but, this was not the same Lamar team I have watched all year. The Tigers had several turnovers, mental mistakes and missed assignments that hasn't happened during their long winning streak. If they play with the same intensity next week, Lutheran North will be the team moving on. It didn't help that stud running back-defensive back Michael Danner was injured on the first series of the game. Hopefully he will be able to recover in time for next week's game. They are going to need him at full strength.

Lamar... they win when they play badly. I have a feeling that this week in practice will have them more than ready. You aren't "Lamar" without the coaching staff they have and they will have them ready to go. Every great team has a bad one from time to time but the issues will be fixed. Nothing bad on LN, they have a great team but I go Lamar by a 3 score game. By 3 score I mean at least 21, just to clarify :)

A lot of people sticking with Lamar, I see! (Though I can’t say for certain if they’ve all successfully removed emotion and rooting interest from their pick ...)

Lamar realistically speaking should win. They defend the run, and have a ton of ways to attack as well. Then there’s the advantage of being there before, there’s the obvious coaching advantage. And 6 pervious championships to speak of. Yes Lutheran has some great play makers, but are they a great team? It takes a great team to be a great TEAM. Emotions and everything aside there’s nothing wrong with not letting a game change a perspection of another outcome. I’ve never understood that thought process. Lamar over LN. but Trinity will be way tougher next year for Lamar. Not sure they do it again.

What he said.... Lamar to cover the Vegas spread...

I am a huge fan of what Bailey has done and i’m definitely rooting for Lamar and I hope i’m wrong but I actually think LN wins this one. LN is as good of a Class 2 opponent as Lamar has faced in their run and they have an Oklahoma recruit at DE/TE that is the real deal. I wouldn’t be shocked if Lamar won but I have to lean toward LN. As we have discussed here LN is let’s say streching the rules. Probably not to the extent of Trinity but Lamar is going against a stacked deck.

So by that standard a recruit for Alabama (Trinity’s QB) who can throw the football. (which is the weakness of the Lamar program) is not enough to beat Lamar, but a OU TE recruit who actually blocks and runs more than catches passes is going to beat Lamar??? Really what could beat Lamar is the ability to mix the run abilities they have and find a way to throw. But as I could tell from film they throw no better than Lamar. They threw the ball more because they faced really low level competition all year. Both Trinity and Lutheran face no one all year. Awful competition. Anyways, just clarifying. :)

So are you saying you disagree with me? I didn’t say LN is a one man team? I also don’t think LN played a superior schedule.

Trinity gave Lamar a good game last year as a bunch of Soph’s despite being undisciplined and making tons of mistakes. That same group a year older was just beat by this LN team.

I’ve watched Lamar this year in person and i’ve watched LN and I’m just offering my opinion. I hope I’m wrong.

No harm intended. Yes Trinity scored in garbage time. Trinity usually starts chucking when behind in a game, and makes it close. I’ve watched them online all year. On games when behind, they just throw bombs and hope it connects. With a good coach they could be unstoppable. It’s scary.

I really think this is a coin toss and impossible to predict. I really wouldn’t be surprised to see any outcome. If Lamar comes out plays lights out as they are capable of I think they could turbo them but the same could be said for LN. Or they could both play good or bad and it could be a one score game in either teams favor.

If a top 5 ranked Cardinal Ritter is decent, I would love to hear what word applies to Clark County who's been unranked all season.

A lot St Louis teams have the benefit of being ranked and well respected because there’s more opportunities to showcase your team. CC doesn’t get that benefit. I’ve liked Clark County all year, and thought they needed more respect. Very good roster, kinda reminds me of the tough nosed kids on Lamar!

I'm of 2 minds on this game. Is this the game that karma strikes back at Lamar for all those 60 point blow outs OR does a true, cohesive team come together to beat a bunch of recruited all-stars? I'll say Lamar 24 - Lutheran North 35

LN played Mater Dei out of Evansville IN which has a very good program .Hope this is a good game and I think Lamar wins

I never said they werent. You have to be usually to be as consistent as they have. But to say they are more than your opponent when you havent seen your opponent is pretty clueless

I really think for LN to win they have to have early success. I believe the legend of Lamar is in their heads and without early success it will grow. Seeing those hundred Lamar players rolling in has an affect too. LN should win talent wise but Lamar has proven that discipline and will to win combined with raw numbers can overcome a lot of talent.
Until proven otherwise, I will pick Lamar against any class 2 or 3 team in the state.

Your 50 point prediction is quite hysterical. And Lamar could lose. But It should be a game for sure.

Explain how that’s karma though? You make it sound like they should have put freshman in, and not tried after half on a lot of teams. They just play the game. Just wanting to make sure you aren’t implying something silly? I just don’t see with a lot of talent still left at Lamar it could be a blow out. Lutheran can win this game. But a blowout for either is a large stretch.

They have left the starters in on multiple occasions with 40+ point leads against teams that have zero chance against them. That’s what I mean by karma. Don’t believe I said anything about a blowout.

Oh really now? I’ve been to every game for 3 years. Are you sure about that? I recall seeing almost all underclassman and JV when they are leading. There’s no karma needed. That’s all I’m pointing out. But if they lose so be it. It’s going to end at some point. Just don’t like to see it to a recruited team. But hey, life isn’t fair.

Hey you public school Einstein. Did i predict 50 or did I say "i hope" 50. Read just a little bit slower next time.

You obviously feel It can happen? Or you wouldn’t have said that in general. I’m sticking with my response towards you. It’s funny. I didn’t go to public school btw. Assume much?
