The Left Isn’t Stopping at Merely Censoring the Right’s Free Speech

No one is talking about the most disturbing aspect of the confrontational incident involving the Covington Catholic school boys. Those boys were not speaking. No one was trying to silence their voices or shout them down. They were merely standing there wearing MAGA hats.

Not content with just silencing conservatives, the left is now actively trying to chase conservatives out of the public sphere and society at large. The Native American man, Nathan Phillips, who confronted the boys with his drum was trying to chase them away from the Lincoln Memorial. The person who edited the video to make it appear that the boys were the ones accosting Phillips wanted to justify what Phillips was doing. The media went along with it and condemned the boys.

This type of totalitarian censorship has been creeping into society more and more during the Trump administration. It is totalitarian because the First Amendment protects both the freedom of speech and the freedom of assembly. Someone merely shows up in a public place wearing a MAGA hat and they risk being attacked. White House Press Secretary Sarah Sanders showed up to eat dinner with her family at a restaurant and the owners kicked her out. Perhaps most frightening of all, Fox News host Tucker Carlson’s family didn’t even leave their home and they had masked protesters yelling outside and banging on their door, chanting, “We know where you sleep at night.” The message being sent is even if you avoid the public square, you’re not even safe in your own home.

This is a logical extension of the left’s tactics of resorting to silencing their ideological opponents because they can’t beat them in substantive debates. This is how Antifa arose. Those young, angry Millennials don’t have the brainpower to defeat conservative arguments, so they resort to violence. The domestic terrorist group shows up at conservative events and throws projectiles at conservatives and the police officers who are trying to protect them. Even if you don’t say anything, your mere presence as a conservative puts you in danger from these radicals.

Fortunately, along with this surge of intimidation tactics by the left is a new offensiveness by conservatives. Instead of sitting back and taking it, conservatives are fighting back aggressively. Before, the left would make false claims that conservatives were racist, sexist, greedy, uncaring, etc. Now, conservatives have learned to turn those criticisms around and place them squarely where they belong — on the left. Instead of trying to defend themselves from amorphous charges that require them to prove a negative, conservatives are changing the focus to the actions of the left.

A new generation of young black conservative activists, led by Candace Owens, isn’t trying to defend conservatives from charges of racism. Instead, they are pointing out the racism of the Democrats, from their history as slave owners and segregationists to their elitist attitudes toward blacks today.

Similarly, Brandon Straka, a gay former Democrat leading the #WalkAway movement, isn’t trying to defend conservatives from accusations of homophobia. Instead, he focuses on how the Democrats mistreat gays and other minority groups and view them as just competing interests.

Conservatives are finally getting mad. They’re tired of being bullied. They’re tired of the name calling. They’re sick of being called things they’re not. The left has bit off more than it can chew. Making decent people out to be monsters went too far. Conservatives have woken up and realized playing defensive and nice wasn’t working. It’s time to use the left’s tactics back on them — although not going so far as Alinsky tactics, which include lying.

The way to fight this newest tactic by the left of trying to stamp out conservatives merely from appearing in society is to call it for what it is — fascism. Some have already figured out what is happening and are calling Antifa fascists. More of this needs to take place. Otherwise Antifa and its comrades will make even more inroads into shutting conservatives out of society.

The old Indian was trying to chase them from the Lincoln Memorial? Who the hell came up with that one? I seem to keep forgetting the reason for the Indians being there at all.

Why do you hate the 1st amendment?

Why do you hate the 1st amendment?
You have lost your ever lovin mind, what does the first amendment have to do with our discussion about who said or did what that day? Do you think the black guys had the 'right' to say the things they did? Not do you like what they were saying, just did they have the right?

Did you read the original post? I doubt it, because your response had nothing to do with what was posted.

Do the black guys have the right to say racist, hateful things? Absolutely. Why is no one crucifying them in the media though?

Adults (that you support with your vote) are begging for these 16 year olds lives to be ruined for "smirking", does that kid have the right to smirk?

This!
Everyone has the right to be and say whatever they want.
The media also has the right to report however they wish.
Citizens and viewers have the right to believe whatever media source they choose too.

What no one has the right to do is crucify teenagers for FAR less (even if guilty of what they are charged with by libs) than the other group in the same place at the same time undisputedly did with no concern.

Nobody was crucified. Stop being a drama queen
What was the name of the group that instigated?

Black Israelites. They think they're the lost tribe of Israel.

The Covington kids were metaphorically crucified in the media, and if people like Cathy Griffin had her way, some of those kids would be literally crucified.

I'm done responding to you because you're nothing but a troll. You answered none of my questions because you know you have no response and you dont want to be wrong.

Pretty good evaluation.
He claims to be a conservative!
Never said a bad thing about a Dem and trashes every conservative on this board. When pinned down, he disappears till he thinks it's clear.

You keep talking about Griffin and I have NO idea what she has done or said. I haven't seen it or heard anywhere. I guess the all liberal CNN hasn't reported her liberal rants.

That's interesting, but not really the point. I've posted what she's said. Calling for names and addresses to be released, asking for KIDS to be doxxed and their entire lives to be ruined. Some other lib stated the kid had a punchable face. Is that appropriate or necessary when discussing a child?

Just google Kathy Griffin Covington and you can read all about it.

Who was it that said she would give Lewinskys to anyone that would punch the teen in the face?

I can't imagine all the 'left wing' media wouldn't be showing her every word. Could it be they don't think what she says is very important? I personally don't care what she's says, ever. Heck she even got booted off the New Years Eve gig.

The fact remains that not only is she is calling for violence against kids, but she feels emboldened to do so.

and both of you (Mutt and Jeff) forget that your leader talked about grabbing women by the pu**y and it's acceptable. Don't give me that crap that you don't like what he said. Not once did you come on here and degrade what IT said. You people need to take a look in the mirror. Repub's have had abortions, there are gay repubs, there are repubs that steal, lie, cheat, have extra-marital affairs, take the Lord's name in vain, killed people, but have yet to hear one lib on here bunch the entire party as one. Mirror folks, stop hiding behind lies.

Yes, and when the alternative is Democrats who actively promote those behaviors, I'd still rather roll the dice on a Republican who will at least promote policy I agree with.

I'm not voting for his personal life, I'm voting for his policy and the party platform.

Oh morals don't matter ok I see.

Did I say that? I dont have to agree with his personal life to agree with his policies.
How can you guys stick with him after what he said about the intel folks yesterday and today. First he said they were wrong, he was right and they should go back to school. Today he met with them face to face then when asked about the meeting he flat out lied to our faces when he said they said they told him they were misquoted and that it was fake news. They knew they were on camera in front of congressmen and women when they said what they said. Do you believe they really told him what he says they told him?!!!! He lies when the truth fits better!

How can we stick with him?

1. Policy

2. Opportunity for more conservative Supreme Court justice appointments.

3. I'm not going to vote for a Democrat because they lie too and their party platform is in direct opposition to most of my core beliefs.

Did I say that? I dont have to agree with his personal life to agree with his policies.
OH Okay. Now I see your reasoning. Sorry.
So if a teacher is banging a student, or a priest is molesting a young boy, or a doctor is doing an abortion, and I could go on, but as long as you agree with their policy, their personal life doesn't matter. That clears it up on your thinking about t rump.

He ain't the only republican to vote for, in fact he was NEVER a republican until 2016. He loved the Clintons until he decided to run for president. He is a danger to our country in ways that have nothing to do with jobs or judges. HE appointed the intel folks he says are wrong and then lies about what they said in front of cameras on every network and cable news outlet. He is a sick man who thinks he knows more about everything than anyone else and can't stand to be told he's wrong. I'm sure you're also fine with his private, secret meetings with Putin with only a Russian interpreter in the room and no way to know what's said or promised in those meetings. What does he need to hide in his discussions with Putin? You didn't want a 'normal' and you sure got your wish!

Wow, there's a bunch of apples and oranges comparisons. The things Trump has done in his PRIVATE life aren't illegal, they might be crappy, and he might be a bad person, but he's not doing anything illegal.

Priest molesting a kid - illegal

Doctor preforming an abortion - not private life, literally being paid to do a job.

Trump cheating on his wife, lying, etc. - not illegal, part of his personal life.

Trump's POLICIES are the reason employment is at 3.9%, the reason minority unemployment is at historic lows, wages are up.

Do you see the difference?

Correct. I didnt vote for him, and would have much preferred Rand Paul or Ted Cruz.

He is a sick man who thinks he knows more about everything than anyone else and can't stand to be told he's wrong.

So, kind of like you and Duck?

You didn't want a 'normal' and you sure got your wish!

Again, I didn't vote for the man, but I'm SO glad he's in Office instead of Hillary.

No, he doesn't see the difference. He isn't capable of seeing the difference and thus it's impossible to have a conversation with him.

He might have been telling Putin he was ending the nuclear deal. I'm sure that is what Putin wanted.
You guys are ate up with things that could/might/probably/maybe/etc. have or will happen. ANYONE can say ANYTHING with those qualifiers. 3R might/could be an ax murderer.

They just don't get it!
Trump is doing a MUCH better job as President than I dreamed. I was terrified when he got the nomination. I still would prefer others over him but he has been great so far. Trump has accomplished more for conservatism than both Bushes combined and undid much of the Obama damage in TWO years.
For the libs, all they see are the CNN boogeymen that are POSSIBLE because they want it to be true.
I've learned that with Trump you have to watch his actions not his words.

He doesn't tell Putin anything he doesn't want to here. Maybe you guys can explain his love for Putin and Kim over anybody HE picked for top positions in his administration.

I guess you take Trump wanting to be on good terms with our adversaries as love. Bit of a stretch don't you think?

It's fine to try to get along, if that's all it is why all secrecy? We as a country have no idea what he's saying in those meetings and with only a Russian interpreter in the room HE has no idea if he's being told what Putin is saying either. If he didn't hide stuff and lie so much we might be able to believe he's just trying to get along better.
